I was in a discussion the other day about EOS and how it can be marketed to the public.  There are lots of DAPPS being built on top of it, but I am still not seeing mass adoption of the apps or the platform.  I think if they were able to integrate it via Single Sign On(SSO) with existing accounts like Google, there might be a much greater influx of users.

Do you see something like this becoming a reality?  Do you think it would work in bringing on more users?  Obviously security would be an issue, but there is something to be said for the ease of adoption.

I know that STEEM already has something similar with Steemconnect and the way you can log into the other DAPPS with your single Steem account using that service.  There is still the barrier to setting up the account though, recording and storing public keys, private keys, active keys, etc.

If I were a user and I wanted to play a new game, the one I can download from the apps store and make in game purchases right from my Google Play account that is already tied to my credit card is a much more accessible option than something that is currently built on the blockchain and requires a more technical skill set to accomplish.

I look forward to reading everyone's thoughts.

This idea about ease of adoption is simple, but it has one fatal problem that you have mentioned, which is Security. With such a considerable risk of security, it is unlikely that any users wil be interested in joining in that way. The risk of security will negate all possible interest of the users.

Well, your idea is good and safer too, but that would neglect one of the clause of bitcoin which is anonymity. And even if your suggestions keep comes true, the bitcoin might get end up as a fiat coin.

I think you need to learn more technical skills. There may be occurred some server issues so that you couldn't setting up the account. You should wait till the server issue has recovered.

Except for the security factor I think this is a great innovative idea. This can definitely attract much more users as me personally will be intrigued to try it if it happens. But need to overcome the security factor at first.

We need to understand, in these kind of projects security will always be the most important thing. Nobody wants to get in the middle of a fraudulent activity. If the project gets approved in the security area people will give it a try.

Security is an issue here. There will always be some trust issues going on but if they can solve it, it can get huge attraction, I guess.

A single account tied to all the services is much needed in the dApps world. This might be a great addition to the crypto space.

Yes there are issues with the adootion of crypto, somehow the developers need to make the system user friendly, like there should be some way to reset password or re generate the private key if someone forget or misplaces it, but the reset option will be provided to only original person after email and sms verification, this will make crypto based wallets and accounts more compliant and more and more users will create accounts with confidence.

Thanks for the replies everyone!  I totally get what most people are saying when it comes to the security aspect.  I think we all do everything we can to keep our keys safe.  I guess I can see it from a different point of view because I know I have much less to lose than some others that are invested in crypto.

I do know though that one of the major barriers to mass adoption is the difficulty in accessing the dapps.  The Google SSO thing was just a thought.  Unfortunately I don't have the technical skills to even begin to implement something like that.  I just know a lot of people that shy away from Cryptocurrencies and the apps associated with them not because they don't believe in them, but the barrier to entry is just more than they care to deal with.

Hopefully one day we can find a solution that offers security as well as some degree of anonymity combined with ease of use and ease of access.

Huh what? Google doesn't have to "cooperate" with you to be able to use single sign on...
It's just used so people can use their gmail address to sign up for your service, nothing more than that.

Any website can add that..
