You know what I'm surprised with Southeast Asian esports? That they haven't picked up on crypto sponsorships yet. Or have they? With all that interest, all that embracing of AI and tech in gaming, and all those blockchain/crypto (mind, I know it's no more than hype rather than utility at the moment) projects investing in gaming... thought it's about time we see ambassadors from Malaysia and the like.

Wish I knew more about esports, interesting lines and markets coming up on sportsbooks.

Congratulations VP! Winning the KL major of this year what a great plays from great teams.

Somehow expecting for some SEA teams do able to get to the semi finals or even on the Grand ones but they haven't able to make it out.
I wont be surprised yet those high tier teams will really be faced up on the bracket.Im eyeing on TNC and FNTIC but they didn't able to pass through semis.
For NIP, I didn't expect that I would see Matumbaman on that team.

Actually there's already a Russian team before named "Fly to moon" and their team logo was Bitcoin but soon they haved replaced their name and logo as "Winstrike" which is now the current team name due to sponsorship.

Dota 2 Team uses Bitcoin Logo as their team logo.

As for KL major, congratulations to Virtus.Pro.

Ramzes: I'm best!

After the loss, they got from their last 2 fights on The International 2018 and China Dota2 Supermajor Event with the Evil Geniuses Team and Team Liquid they regained their victory again this time,

Well after the first round won by VP then Team Secret tied the game with the victory in round 2 and pull the game after winning again in the 3rd round making Team Secret on the lead to 2-1, But then again Team Secret was ready to take this win but after VP had the upper hand by taking control of the map that would lead the game headed to the 5th round, And even though Team Secret was on a lead in opening the game with an Echo Slam Delivered by YapzOr, But VP had recovered and found an opening which claims their victory, Taking home $350,000 as well as 4950 DPC points.

A great battle indeed and I really think in my opinion with their recent performance I would love to watch another of their games that will make you be amazed at it.

RAMZES666 never failed to impress me even on past TI and tournaments you would really able to see how this kid play.In this major he do make use of TerrorBlade in all games as i remember.I thought that Secret would take the championship because they do already lead up to 2-1 but unexpectedly VP do manage to streak up on remaining games since its just BO5.VP realizes that they must execute Yapzor first when theres a clash because they do know how this dude execute good plays that can really outplay the team.

It's only a matter of time before we'll see crypto prizes and sponsorships.
It's in fact happening as we speak. Just that those are first attempts and we don't hear about them in the mainstream media.

The source for this screenshot wasn't provided, but it's from Liquipedia if anyone is interested. The entire wiki is well made, and I personally use it to find information on CS:GO as well as Dota, especially for players and teams, etc. Here's a link to the page this screenshot was taken from.

I didn't watch much of this particular major, but it seems like the final match was pretty close with VP winning 3-2 over Team Secret.

Already it's time to look forward to the Chongqing major - the invited teams have just been seeded for the qualifiers. VP have a very easy looking group with 3 lower tier teams. The qualifiers will also see the return of OG, who have been on an extended break since winning TI8. They have a much more difficult looking group, which includes Team Secret.

Also, after Ana's announcement a few days ago that he will not yet be returning to Dota, we do not know who will be playing position 1 for OG. Given how instrumental Ana was to OG's success in TI, their stand-in could completely make-or-break them for this major. I'm not even sure who they could get to stand-in for them? There's no one available at that level that I can think of. OG did play some pub games with Matumbaman last weekend, but that might be an issue when OG and Liquid meet in the qualifiers. Grin

I'm still holding out for a Dendi return to the pro scene.

Nothing new if you've ever followed any esports. I remember team liquid and their site back from the new starctaft's early years, like 2011 and such.

A haven't followed dota for quite some time. I used to play old dota as a Warcraft 3 mod somewhere in 2009 and then the early dota2 back when Navi was winning every tournament. Any of you remember the good old days and everyone hating on Russians who invaded EU servers? Grin

Of course. I'm pretty sure there will be Bitcoin-sponsored teams in both sports and esports.

Ana is a big loss for them and we know replacing POS 1 on the team wont really be that easy since we know on how ANA do play and contribute to make their team the Champion on TI 8.
For Dendi we all been longing for him to be backed and  i idolized him since TI 1.

Maybe they are not adopting on crypto sponsored games but I think it was already on the mind of the admins yet thinking of how it would benefit esports specially in Southeast Asian esports. Let's just consider on waiting for that to happen and that would be great news for the crypto world.

Also, after Ana's announcement a few days ago that he will not yet be returning to Dota, we do not know who will be playing position 1 for OG.
This saddened when I read that Ana left from active to inactive on Liquipedia. At first it was "none" but it became better when it's changed to inactive which means he can comeback anytime.

It's also interesting with the upcoming WESG 2018, Ana is going to play as pos4 for Australia, Oceania region.

He is also still expected to play with OG in Melbourne next month at the AMD Pro Series. Notail's response to Ana's announcement says "Can’t wait to see you soon down under", and Ceb has apparently said on stream that Ana will be playing with them for these games, so it's likely Ana just wanted to skip tournaments abroad and stay in Australia for a few months, which is completely understandable.

The Facebook announcement does also say that "Ana will move on to be our official substitute for the upcoming season", not that he is leaving OG altogether.

Yeah that pretty much of a relief.

Guys this might be an Off topic to what we've been discussing but I haven't seen any related thread for what I'm about to share so I think I'll post it here. This is a hot topic not only on facebook and reddit but in the Dota 2 community worldwide.

Cyborgmatt confirms Kuku and Skem are banned, China asked Col/TNC to kick them off the team too

Good to know such news which i do see ANA do really have that worthy POS 1 title.About skipping tournaments then its considerable but if he do really wants to play with the team there are lots of ways
but well this is just his choice.

Since this Major is already over and theres no need for more discussion i would lock this thread.
