This is actually quite hard to spot which ico project has the potentialities to be a scam as the scammers are way too clever. Sometimes using google image can help you out to reveal the fake images of team members

Have you ever see an ICO going on and see the team listed on their site have no social media link like twitter linkedin etc? Sometimes yeah that some people don't use social media that much but you still curious who tf this guy and why I trust him with my hard earned money for some dream project. So you guys check the team image by search the image in google or Yandex or any other services and found out they just take other people image from google, what you guys will do?

If you just wonder how many scam ICO with a fake team out there, the answer is to many to handle.
You guys can go to scam accusation board here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0 and see how many reports made for a fake team running an ICO. And that only ICO we proved to be fake and I'm sure there lot more ICO going on with the fake team, you just can reverse the image edit the color or just picture random person on the street and put it in your website to make it though.

So just another advice from me, don't put your money to some random project without proper search about the team and the project itself, knowledge is a power. Just because your friend or family invest that doesn't mean you have to invest too.

Even with a real photo of them, they even still can scam you and get your money later.
There must be a concrete proof about the existence of the company, otherwise it can be fabricated.
Faking the team just one of the method they use, other things are important too.

I think if the development team in the ICO project has a famous person like Vitalik Buterin, then I make sure that the ICO will not become a SCAM.
Just look at how OmiseGo transforms into a good token and has many communities.

Many here say, and point out the main positive feature of cryptocurrency is anonymity. But at the same time they are ready to give their money to an unknown project without identifying its team. This is a very serious matter. It is one thing when we talk about the anonymity of our personal data, and it is quite another when it comes to our money. It is necessary to separate the concept of anonymity in relation to cryptocurrencies. Of course, ownership of cryptocurrency, its storage, payment of bills and purchases does not require identification of the buyer. But when we invest, trust our money to another person to make a profit or to implement promising projects, we want to know exactly who we give money to, this is a guarantee of our cooperation and return on investment. Anonymity is not always a good idea, especially when it comes to your profits.

its not a new thing in crypto world. scam is happening but we must be educated enough to catch those scams and avoid them. i have seen some icos like that. so always go to telegram chat and check discussion, check their social media accounts, also the press releases, then you can filter scams and legit projects

Indeed for now most ICO projects have caused fraud. Myself, if I want to invest in an ICO project, I have to be careful and have to analyze the team behind the project. because there are currently many fake accounts from the ICO project team to deceive investors. so when we want to invest in ICO projects, we must be careful.
Yes, be careful, but can you tell me how to look at the team behind the project? Because I think we can see that ICO scams are now widespread in the market, I do not dare invest in them because I am afraid to encounter fraudulent ico project.

The best projects I've invested are ones which I had the ability to communicate with the CEOs and founders of the projects in their community channels.
Make sure the founders are engaging with the community.

Be sure to see the confirmed members of the project team, because it is very important to analyze the project itself!

In fact it has become too much difficult to recognize a good project which is not a scam and in the end can give you a good reward, I think that it is very good if you have direct contact with the CEOs or other team member who can give you response to your question  and can clarify everything to you so easily.

Of course, we don't need to put our money on some random project without proper search about the team and the project itself. Investing in an ICO is not a simple thing, it has many risks, there are many scammers out there so we should learn the project well. If we see there are some suspicious things in the project, then we don't need to invest in it.

I think only beginners can invest in a fraudulent ICO with a fake team. Experienced investors scrutinize every detail to ensure profitability. First look at numbers of visitors at website! This is very good sign what will be with investments.
