hey,

i just started to mine some zec with dstms zec miner on flypool. ive got 1 gtx 1080 in there to do the work right now. can someone check the numbers and tell me if its going the right direction? it seems fucking slow even tho the miner says i got 600 sol/s. wanted to get another 1080 to get it a bit faster, but even then it takes ages to mine 1 zec.

I haven't check your number but you should simply forget about zec or any equihash coin with graphic cards.
ASIC just rule this algorithm and there is absolutely no point mining equihash with a graphic card.

ASICs that dwarf GPUs were released for ZEC Algo or 144-5 GPU mining make no sense. Try other coins like BTG, BTCZ, Zelcash etc.

It looks to me that getting 600 sol/s with your graphic card is a pretty good result. Unfortunately, like the others have said, you are competing against ASICs and the battle is futile. I'd suggest to try to find some other algos that haven't been asiced as of yet. I have no idea what the current situation is, but maybe you could try with x16r (RVN) ??...

I don't typically point people to Whattomine, but their calculator's good if you're trying to get an approximation for what the most profitable coin is for a particular GPU. (1080 link)

Seems like X16R on Nicehash or just mining Ravencoin is a decent choice for your 1080 at this moment in time, though it seems profitability isn't too great for that particular algo either. Better than nothing after crypto prices have been falling like they were.
