OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- TD Ameritrade1 is once again expanding its digital reach by teaming up with Oculus Go from Facebook to provide one of the first-of-its-kind immersive learning experience for investors. TD Ameritrade formally announced this relationship at its Investor Education Conference in Las Vegas, the largest investor education conference of its kind in the industry.
“Visualization is a powerful tool because it makes abstract things seem more real,” said Sunayna Tuteja, head of strategic partnerships and emerging technologies at TD Ameritrade. “Finance is often abstract, and we’re excited to take first step in using the power of VR, combined with our expertise and knowledge, to further demystify the often complex topic of investing. We’re on a journey to break down more barriers to entry when it comes to investing in the markets, and this is one more way we can do that.”
With TD Ameritrade’s first experience on Oculus Go, investors get a real-life view of things normally inaccessible to the public – taking them inside the NYSE, the CBOE and Bitcoin mine – to give them an intimate look at the world of finance.
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "Bitcoin mine".
After reading the above "press release", I'm still not sure what they meant either...
Thoughts on the initiative?
Even though their press release wasn't that in-depth, it's certainly an interesting way to attract & educate investors (it might only have a small impact [for now] but surely, a positive one).
