I have to wonder how much bitcoin has been made by members of this site with the overshadowing of casino signatures.  Does anyone else approach advice from these people with a bit of apprehension?

It's could be simplified as bitcoin paying signature bounty. Most members prefers bitcoin paying bounties because it pays in bitcoin and it's very selective in employing users to work for them so not everyone gets admitted. Members of the forum do not make bitcoins, a better word would be to earn bitcoins. There are a number of programs run on the forum by which users can earn bitcoins, and majority of the bitcoin paying signatures are sponsored by gambling sites.

Does anyone else approach advice from these people with a bit of apprehension?   

Some users find signatures distasteful, and have the option to change their profiles to not view other users signatures. Approach advise from anyone with apprehension.

Most of them have been very helpful to the community by responding to so many issues around the forum. Wearing an advertising signature to some is just an added bonus for being an active and helpful member of the forum.

AFAIK, most of the gambling and casino signature campaigns pay in Bitcoin to the advertisers and also have limited spots to only those with a quality post history. So you will rarely see a shitposter in such campaigns.

Shilling for whatever product you are advertising in your signature is not part of the "job", so don't worry too much about it. I don't think I've ever come across someone shilling a casino; most commonly you'll find people shilling their favourite alt coin or ICO token (ie. always take "investment" tips with a huge grain of salt, although I won't deny that many people are genuine fans of whatever their favourite alt or ICO is).

They won't earn anything at all, once they got caught shilling a website/ICO they are part of they will be tagged by a DT member and most campaigns removes their members without pay. Some campaigns (mostly ICO campaigns) requires shilling or bumping the thread which are also against the rules so it is best to stay away from this kinds of campaigns.

I think its best to avoid them as you won't get proper advice from a rule breaker, most of them are bitter from what they have received so chances are he might mislead you depending on what he believes in.

Well chipmixer participants make around $200 a week (fluculates a lot due to bitcoin's volatility) if they fulfill their maximum posts requirements.  The Chipmixer campaign is considered the best sig campaign on this forum and anytime there is an open spot there is fierce competition for the opening.  To have any chance of being accepted you need to be a very high quality poster.

Exact amounts will be hard to determine actually but let's see, quite a few years of activity, lets say 8, plus dozen of thousands of participants, add many various bonuses and extras, deals for avatar, signature, sometimes personal text alone...
I would be surprised if this amount was lower than a million BTC    ~1.000.000 easily.

True, we have to remember the big amounts that signatures used to play, i remember getting between 0.15 and 0.1 on my signature campaigns like 3 or 4 years ago. And i wasn't a legendary member at that time.

So, not sure about 1 million btc, but more than 10,000 btc we can be sure.

It's completely normal to be suspicious of posts from members that are being paid to post on this forum and in other places, but most of the time I find those with signatures from higher-quality campaigns like Bitblender and Chipmixer make high-quality posts that make sense, are easy to read,provide legitimate advice, and most importantly contribute to the great big community that is Bitconitalk. There's obviously some people that do shill their signatures, but if you've got a problem with this, the ignore button is always there.

OP was talking about members who are carrying signatures of Casinos or Gambling sites... He was wondering if there are other people too just like him who take their advice with a little bit of caution when they posted a reply or topic in the forum

But not everyone has the same vision as you about casinos. Some people do not think it's just a bad thing. This is a rather skewed view of a business that receives millions of people every day. You should probably have a similar view about drugs and other "sins" that the more liberal world provides.

Not everyone is addicted to what is considered by many to be a sin. And the problem only occurs with those who are addicted to something, less than 1% of the total. I believe that each individual is able to reason on his own about what is beneficial to him or not. Freedom should not be pruned by those who believe they are right about everything and everyone.

We cannot deny that signature participants would favour the hand that feeds them.  The difference with shills being paid to promote a specific company or service is the mandate of the requirements of that specific campaign. If the campaign require you to "bump" their ANN thread on a weekly basis, you are inadvertently being paid to promote their product or service.

A member that is wearing a specific signature would never be 100% biased in their opinion on the product or service that are paying them.

I am a huge supporter of financial privacy and I am proud to support a reputable mixer service that makes that possible, so it is natural for me to promote the service in my signature.

Sadly agree here. Gambling is misery and living under bridge sooner or later.
This is addiction and thats why its banned in many countries like drugs.

Not really that much, it's not something to focus, signature campaign is just some incentive given for being active in the forum.

Whether one is on such signatures or not,for sure you ought to take information from them with a pinch of salt.
The signature changes nothing as is not a criteria to decide whether their information is worthy or not
Mostly everyone is all about what's beneficial for themselves which is normal,and with anonymity playing another part, you definitely cannot just trust someone else's information without asking more questions and making more discoveries.

Depends on which campaign you are in,nowadays most of the signature campaigns proivide very less rewards so we actually can't make any bitcoins from this,we can only make fraction of bitcoin by being part of long running signature campaign.

Signature campaigns from ICOs won't let participants earn bitcoin but there's another signature campaigns from successful projects to advertise their running site and the participants can earn bitcoin bits by bits. If you have the patience to store your bitcoin for a period of time then you'll have btc later on.
