Should one create a new address for every receipt?

I've just installed a Dash node, and one of the first things it does is to create 1,000 receiving addresses. They recommend that you use a different address for every receipt. This is a bit of a nuisance if you are asking for donations to support sites and services, and you need to include an address on a web page. It gets a bit more complicated with Bitcoin, as I believe you should offer both SegWit and legacy addresses.

How much extra security do you think using fresh addresses will give you, and do you think it is worth the inconvenience resulting from not using a single address. I'm assuming that you will run a full node to give yourself maximum flexibility and control.

You don't need to 'offer' a legacy address to receive donations anymore.
Any halfway up-to-date wallet can send to bech32 addresses.

Using a single segwit address should be enough. And if you still believe some user might use wallets which are incompatible to bech32 (which would be way too old wallets), simply use a nested segwit which is accepted by each wallet.

No practical extra security at all.

You can receive transactions as often as you want to the same address.

When you send some BTC from the addresses, you public key / redeem script will be published. That's it.
This doesn't affect the security in a noticeable way.

With bitcoin, you can use the same address as long as you want with as many transaction as you wish.
The only thing you are compromising with it, is your privacy.

But if you don't care whether people know how often and how much you get in donations, feel free to use a single address for the rest of your life.
Security-wise, this is absolutely fine.

When you run Dash wallet for first time it will create 1000 address, I think it has something to do with mixing/PrivateSend. Whenever a key is used another one will be created so better backup your keys when needed.

The use of different addresses will not increase security but will afford more privacy for both receiver and donator.

I also suggest using qrCode instead of plain text address.

Your bitcoin wallet is able to generate millions of addresses from the same SEED as well. As bob123 said, it does concern only privacy reasons. Dash is just more privacy focused.

As usually there is no need to worry about privacy in donations, it is common to use one vanity address, such as 1JetCash3E9QsaW231...
