Startup Unstoppable Domains which recently received a large investment from Draper venture capital is working to create a decentralized, censorship-resistant Internet. With a blockchain domain people can create a uncensorable website as well as use that same domain for receiving crypto such as BTC, ETH, ZIL and LTC ...hopefully more down the line.

What are your thoughts?

Will Uncensorable Websites become Reality?

Maidsafe is trying to do this now for over 10 years. Thing is development is slow so we should not expect anything useful really fast. We have permissionless money. We should be supper happy about that.   But on long term only sky is the limit.

I would really like to see these come to fruition. It would be really interesting to see what websites would be like if they didn't have to be censored or include ads imo

It will always get resistance from the authorities. They need control. It has long existed. Anyone who wants an uncensorable internet connection can visit the darknet.

I read somewhere that there would be moderators for these sorts of things where they can typically just have a type of democracy to vote out any one they do not agree with and find harmful. Does this still feel centralized?
