The timing has to do with the review of the main US bankruptcy case.  There was reasoning behind it in one of the articles.  It has nothing to do with the lawyers, but law regarding bankruptcy.  The only reason he was even able to freeze them was due to some loophole between the Japan filing and the US one...  It also states that it's going to be reviewed at the 14 days regarding the other case.  Additional to that, it was done with prejudice (in the article) due to the proof that large sums of bitcoins are moving around inside Gox, even though MK claimed only 2000 bitcoins within the company.  Now, plaintiffs have ability to grill MK regarding the 'web of lies' --
