hi. I wanted to eliminate fan for immersion then I'd bought IC Timer 555 like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Signal-Generator-Frequency-Adjustable-1-500KHz/dp/B06W5FVDJQ
I set the frequency to 267 and duty cycle to 50%
I connect to signal wire(yellow) and then the vcc wire (red) then suddenly my miner got off and didn't turn on. Sad
what should I had consider before connecting this kit?
(now the ground pin is short-circuited with Signal(Tacho) wire and It seems the main chip zynq xc7z010 is corrupted.

I heard that the latest antminer can not bypass or simulate the fan with tachometer the miner will read it as "shorted" based on what I heard.

Why don't you just use a 3rd party firmware instead like Braiins OS to disable fan check?

Read this --> Fan check disable

Actually I wanted to test it on my S9j then after confirmation I can test on my antminer T17 which is much more expensive than my S9.
Is it custom firmware like you've mentioned for T17 for eliminating fan or overclocking?
I was so curious why this is happened?

I don't know much about t17 miner most of the pulse generator that I heard is plug and play like the above you linked.

Check this circuit diagram for DIY "Fake Fan RPM Sensor" maybe this one will help https://www.techidiots.net/notes/fake-fan-sensor
Also, check this video here Bitmain S9 tricked fan sensor

careful, i have done according to the web. Was working fine for few days. Can detect rpm etc.
Few days later Controller board not able to detect the rpm, checked it burned that specific signal. Not even can detect 12cm fan anymore.

Just sharing my experience only. It could be i have done something not right.

regards,

MM

I've checked this circuit before but I didn't dare to try it after this failure with the pre-ready square wave generator IC555.

I don't know what will happen if I unplug both fans? Miner won't turn on at all or it will turn on and I can go to settings but miner won't just hash or what? what if I eliminate just one fan?
(I wanna know exactly what will happen if I didn't plug the fan and test after using Frequency simulator circuit)

May 2019 firmware will stop hashing when no fan detected or even will not boo upon detect low fan rpm.

Others firmware - not sure.
