bitcoin-core is the name of the client that bitcoin uses (the full node implementation of bitcoin) it is not like bitcoin-cash which is a poor copy of bitcoin and is considered an altcoin.

the term for them is not "sub part" since they are not "part" of bitcoin. they are just "forks" which basically means copies of bitcoin. and as you can see from their low declining price and lack of transaction in their blocks, they are useless.

how many will there be?
it is not possible to predict. bitcoin is open source (means the code is open to anybody to see) and anyone who wants, can very easily create a copy of it and create their own altcoin.

There is a FOMO brewing...

There could potentially be millions and billions of forks. But only a very very very small number of those forks will actually be relevant. Most of them? We won't even hear about.

Think of it like an image on the world wide web. Everyone can alter, download, and print that image as much as they want. Why? Because it's freely available on the web for everyone to access. Same thing with Bitcoin. The source code is open and public on the web; and you can copy it yourself, alter it, and run it.

Here's Bitcoin Core's source code just so if you're interested: https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin

They are not sub-part but a copy production of Bitcoin.
Being an open source project Bitcoin is available to be forked by anyone and everyone. So, many of them tried to take up a different chain and work on it to create a better crypocurrency.

Well, there's Bitcoin-core, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold and also Bitcoin SV.

To be honest, I hope the cryptocurrency market cap isn't flooded with coins that have the word Bitcoin in them. Stick with the original Bitcoin as you can reap in on the forks if and when they happen. The original Bitcoin is the one with all the media attention and the support of every exchange. Don't doubt how safe Bitcoin is when compared with the other cryptoassets.

Bitcoin forks is going to be inevitable. From the fact alone that Bitcoin is completely open source, and from the fact that Bitcoin is decentralized hence there will always be conflicts and different opinions within the community. We're going to see more forks as time goes on and as we move forward as a community and as a technology, whether you like it or not.

I think you should start again from what is Bitcoin.

If you still want to learning about forks or which coins forked from Bitcoin you can see from here: https://mapofcoins.com/bitcoin/

Also you can see here other coins forks.
