When I try to increase fee I get “cannot bump fee: could not find suitable outputs”

I sent 4.2325 Mbtc to an address, with the minimum fee, and it’s 144 blocks away and has been for about 30 mins, what does this mean for me and what can I do about it? Thanks

whenever you create a transaction, you are creating what we call outputs. each of them have an amount associated with them. usually it is two: one is the payment you are sending to a received and the other is your "change" which you send to your own address which is usually a change address.
in order to "bump" your fee, Electrum has to deduct the additional fee from one of the outputs in your transaction. but sometimes it can not automatically decide from which output it should deduct the fee so it shows you this error. unfortunately there is no "easy way" to increase your fees because the wallet can't do it automatically and has no option for manual intervention. there are other ways but it is complicated and i won't recommend it if you are not in a serious rush to get it confirmed.
