That's not a rule honestly but an "obvious" basic guideline and approach that anyone should do.

Are you affiliated with the site and promoting it as well? Just confused because it's different on what you have on your sig and profile itself. I see that the source of the infographics is all about Security.

Beautiful infographic.
But the most important is not there:

Write down your seed in a piece of paper and never store it online, never take any pictures of it as well.

Yeah, this is something all newbies should indeed be careful about. I almost fell a victim to one of these browser plugins. They said it could help me mine a lotta Bitcoins but I had no idea they were trying to scam me. Also, we should be very careful about telegram scams.

It really is beautiful but I would only recommend it as a refresher as what you need to know is more than that. That being said, if you're reading this and still haven't grasped the bitcoin basics + coins safekeeping, doitdoitdoit.

Op most likely found it on Reddit and decided to repost.

The infographic comes from this article: https://ledgerops.com/blog/9-easy-ways-to-lose-your-cryptocurrency/06/5/2019 (the site figures at the infographic’s foot).

In itself, it’s kind of a visual map of things to consider, but you really need to go beyond the superficiality of the infographic to understand what it’s all about. I mean "backup your keys in multiple ways" needs to be taken down a level with tangible examples. The above referenced link does that at an introductory level (some content is certainly discussable), which at least complements the infographic.

Write down your seed in a piece of paper and never store it online, never take any pictures of it as well.

Many of us use paper as a backup, but it should be noted that's not just enough to write down seed words on paper and leave the paper anywhere. The quality of paper and ink, and the way it is stored are very important. We also need to consider the possibility of fire, floods, thievery and some other things which can destroy such backup.

Possible solution is multiple backup on more then one location, but also some other materials as metal which is certainly the most resilient. Everyone can find a piece of metal and engrave seed words in such plate, but there is also finished products that can be ordered, something like this : https://cryptosteel.com/

This one really give me hard time to think why the title says different on its content. I thought that following those rules or guide might help one get to safety of course it is the opposite. I just think why OP had made the topic appeared opposite in its content.

Anyway, this are the common mistakes that had happen as a bitcoin holder. In fact even up to now this common mistakes are still happening.

Using this service means we have to let them know our seeds, that are risky in my opinion. I agreed that we should separated seeds and store them in different locations, with different means of storages.

Keepass is a powerful tool to safely store passwords and seeds. However, it is always be true that whatever tools we use, our security depends on our ways to use those tools and our habits on Internet space (web-surfing, downloading, and so forth).
Write down your seed in a piece of paper and never store it online, never take any pictures of it as well.

@BTCgrinders.com,

For 2-factor authentication codes, users should do following things:
- Backup 2FA codes before activate this feature;
- When install 2FA code for your account in apps, users should not use the option "Scan 2FA code". Reasons: You can not recheck the correctness of 2FA codes that you backup. Backup 2FA codes, then manually type them in apps is better. If your codes backup wrongly, you will know it.
- Should backup code in paraphrases, not images.

Criminals find new ways to scam people out of their money, so there are no specific rules that would prevent you from losing coins. We have even seen some 2FA getting hacked, so using that as a "must have" option is not 100% bulletproof.

I distribute my coins over several storing methods to reduce the risk of losing all my coins from one hack or scam or some exploit. People make the mistake of storing all their coins in one wallet and then they lose all their coins in one bad event.  Tongue

I do the same thing with my other investments. <Diversify and use different financial institutions>  Wink
