I’m not sure my wallet address changes.

Is a normal hot wallet on BitPay.

There are not even any transactions showing the Btc leaving my account

Change address is a common thing in wallets.

By the way, since there are no activities in your account, and you do not know your address then how did you know that you received 2 BTC and they gone too. I am a bit confused.

~snip~

Then you don't have a real wallet. You have basically an account.
Most probably BitPay gives you a new receiving address every time you've received coins onto the old one.
I guess that the money "you have" in your "wallet" is managed by BitPay and they are the only ones having the private keys for those addresses.
And you see as the amount "you have" based on their programming.

Most probably there was a glitch and that's why you've seen that transaction as "yours" shortly, until somebody noticed and fixed. I don't know what else could be the explanation.

BitPay indeed provides a downloadable software wallet like Electrum. They do not have any access of the private key.

Check this: https://bitpay.com/wallet

Hmm. It looks like you are correct. I've deleted my incorrect post, thanks.
Just then I have no valid explanation  Sad It would have made sense in a custodial wallet, but since it's not the case.. I don't know, sorry.  Huh

The only valid info is that usually a wallet gives a new receiving address every time the old one got at least one transactions.
Just that doesn't explain those ghost transactions.

Change address is a common thing in wallets.

By the way, since there are no activities in your account, and you do not know your address then how did you know that you received 2 BTC and they gone too. I am a bit confused.

There is activity on my account and I have been using this wallet regularly.

I purchased BTC on LocalBitcoins and sent out the amount which I purchased to my BitPay wallet. I then received 2 different transactions. Firstly, I received the amount of BTC I purchased from LocalBitcoins then followed 2 BTC. I initially thought this must just be an error but then the transaction was confirmed and the balance in my account was updated to over 2 BTC and was ready to spend.

Where my confusion lies is where the transactions where in my wallet and were also confirmed, the transaction should be irreversible.

As info in the link you gave shows BitPay does have the private keys yet they can be “Backed up” does that mean I would have access to the private keys. And on BitPay website, they use “multi-signature” and keys for both “copaying” wallets can be backed up, according to the website.

Therefore, would it be possible to retrieve the missing BTC.

Perhaps this missing BTC was sent to the other BTC address which is part of the multi signature wallet.

There was not any record of the 2 BTC leaving my account and only shows the records for 2 BTC actually being received and confirmed. So if the BTC was sent out, it should leave a transaction record right?

Try this: How do I Fix My Wallet if it is showing the Wrong Balance and/or Transaction History?

If nothing happens, go to your wallet addresses and paste all the recent ones on any block explorer (blockchair, btc.com, etc..) to manually check if you really did receive the coins or if it still sits in an address you control of. Note that I'm assuming bitpay lets you view every used address with or without funds, if it does you should see an address with 0.

If confirmed, you can restore the wallet in electrum through seed (12-word) (don't forget to tick the bip39 box): Restoring your standard wallet from seed.

then the 2 BTC you see is in 12DTEwP1Fk8idQrZd9DK3NgjvFEpBbXkTH right?
can you tell me the address you used to receive BTC from LocalBitcoins?
my guess your address is 1B5EQ7G4HVjm26Sb6Nn2BLpvJioJp6jR2y 0.71117627 BTC
if this is right, did you make any transaction with your coins?
if not and since both addresses were used in one transaction,
then I think you are using a deposit address (custodial) on your bitpay wallet
