Hello ,

i would like to know if someone know more about technic that all these BTC & other ALT exchange site use for manage their cold storage

in fact cold storage mean that you need to have a physical access to the server to make a transfert each day into secure cold wallet

is there any other solution for a case we do not have access to the server localy ?
i mean if we rent a server and have only remote access

im looking for a solution that can secure the bitcoins that i receive on my website from my users

thank you very much Smiley

Several adresses, private keys in safe deposits boxes of various banks but never the whole private key on the same piece of paper and controlled by the same employee

Given the history of the exchanges, rather than their claims, I'm not sure that "manage" is the right word.  Or maybe "cold" is the word out of place.

This will depend on what your website does.  If you are just creating an online store that sells products for bitcoins and are therefore only receiving bitcoins at your website, then you can create a database that you pre-load with a long list of pre-generated addresses.  You don't need any of the private keys to be on the servers at all.  They can all be stored locally offline.

You can then create transactions from your local computer to consolidate the bitcoins into cold storage addresses with larger balances, or to send some of the bitcoins to be exchanged for local currency.

If you are trying to create your own exchange, please don't.  If you don't have a good understanding of the protocol and a detailed understanding of the many security issues involved in such an effort, you are going to lose people's money.

thx you for your sugestion all

Danny , im currently try to find a secure solution for a trading site (not open now), i work with proffessional (engineer) but they never think about this since trading & btc + alt currency is new for them

i know fiew tools like Armory or PIwallet but it need to have a physical access to the server

so im trying to find a way that would work as remote solution (the security of the script/server are very strong) but we never know

dont hesitate to sugest your think

thx you very much Smiley
