Ive read conflicting news concerning the upcoming facebook coin.  Ive read the project was called Libra and ive also read that the coin will be called Libra. Ive also read that the coin is going to be called globalcoin but there is already a globalcoin (GBC) created in 2012.  Wonder what the algo is going to be fore their new coin (whatever its name is) and is it going to be minable by GPU, CPU and Asic?

We know that Facebook will launch its own coin and do not know about what the Facebook project is for sure Facebook will have an effect on many people considering Facebook is a big company

There are lots of speculations elsewherr but one thing is for sure it will.be another.stablecoin with the fixed value that cannot be affected with its price value, people.nowadays are very eager to learn this coin, because they wanted to have it, no proper information how we can have it, since it will be launch next year, so its an everyday topic all over the forum.

Facebook's new cryptocurrency "Libra" is bad news for Bitcoin.  Facebook will target the very market Bitcoin is counting on for growth, the unbanked in nations with high inflation.  Libra will be stable, and much easier and cheaper to use as a medium of exchange than Bitcoin.
The good news for the development of crypto is clear if Facebook has begun to wrestle too. but obviously there will be an influence on what bitcoin does, is the effect very large? this is clearly a question that is very uncertain. because bitcoin is synonymous with crypto, so it's not easy to shake bitcoin. need time and hard work for this.

Facebook coins is to be called LIBRA. The other names are not part of it. My worries is why don't we stick to the  established coins like Ether and Bitcoins alone , with every cooperation creating its coins, the market capitation will increase though but most coin price will be reduce.

How did they ever manage to get on the list in the first place

Facebook Removed from S&P List of 'Ethical' Companies

"The existing Visa credit card network processes about 15 million Internet purchases per day worldwide. Bitcoin can already scale much larger than that with existing hardware for a fraction of the cost. It never really hits a scale ceiling."  Satoshi Nakamoto, April 2009          Avoiding taxes is totally legal if you consider and respect the law.

now the adoption of crypto from big names and companies would really push forward the interest of people about crypto. Facebook's crypto would certainly a good competition for the top cryptos in the market. It might even set standards on the cryptos to come.

Judging by the fact that now there is a very big boom of the  LIBRA project, Facebook is seriously prepared and cooperation with such financial giants as (Visa, Mastercard, Paypal) will lead this coin to great heights.  Let's see, over time there will be answers.
But later Libra seems like it won't be able to boom up later. because this is indeed stable coin. and the increase is certainly not that big. but there are quite a lot of enthusiasts from this program

I cannot understand why people are so hyped about Libra. Sure, it will probably introduce a lot of people to cryptocurrencies in general and that alone is great but the coin itself ... I don't know. With a corportation like Facebook behind it, it stands against everything that Bitcoin was created for.

I'm curious about Libra and I have no ideas what is it and now by this forum I have read some quotes that answer my curiousity, but whatever is it I think its good that there will be a facebook coin and maybe due to its popularity and usefullnes of the social media then this coin will hit and soar up higher.

Its a stablecoin, but unlike other stablecoins its pegged to a halve a dozen fiat currencies not just USD by the looks of things.
As it is a stablecoin, it is inflationary which means over long term its loosing value. Not to bad in first four years, but with ever BitCoin halving it gets progressively worse.  Existing stablecoins probably will disappear, other company's will follow Facebook , AppleCoin, AmazonCoin, ........

Libra is going to be a permissioned blockchain. No mining as I hear. There will be nodes that will validate the network. Dozens of them. And all of them are well known players - big corporations. 10M dollars stake to run a node.
