Hi Wookie,
I have found your build out of your mining room amazing. I wanted to know why you've selected the Blackminer F1 mini's vs using other Gpu mining rigs.
If you could share any information on what you've done to optimize your network assembly.
If anyone hasn't see Wookies' build, YOU MUST CHECK IT OUT!!!!

Thanks for the kind words!

I decided to go with the F1 Minis mainly due to being able to mine more than one thing at a time vs buying an F1 or F1+ . Mining with the FPGA's vs GPUs at this stage is far most cost effective. Plus, its all for fun too Smiley

At the moment they're mining Denarius, but when POW is over in 9 or so months they will be used to mine other coins.

thanks for stopping by

This is probably one of the coolest things I've seen on here.  Though I question building a "mining" server room in this current mining climate, this is fucking badass!  I wish I had merit to give you.  I thought it was funny to see all of the professional equipment then a tp-link switch mixed in  Grin

A few questions about the build:

1.  Is that a special type of sheetrock on the walls?

2.  What type of flooring is that?  And why didn't you use the raised flooring that you see in data centers?

3.  Why Denarius?  I used to mine that a little bit back in the day but haven't kept up on it.  Looks like they have a great community

4.  And how do you bring this from concept to build?  I am trying to finish my basement, have the studs and drywall in, and I am just having trouble visualizing how I am going to build a bar and other stuff like that.  Do you use software to map it out?

Awesome job!

pretty cool .

But why so much fanboy'ism  for a total shitcoin?

Have you considered installing solar yourself? You will probably get much better returns than mining fpga shitcoins and will also help lower your electric operating cost.

I do have to admit seeing your room reminded me of the fun days of mining altcoins in 2017. Hope those days return but may not.

Hey Thanks!

I live in Australia, the outside blue board it a fibrecement board with a blue waterproof coating, waterproof once painted. The internal sheets are the same as your sheetrock. The flooring is just treated pine timber layed at 300mm centres on top of black plastic to prevent any moisture coming through. The white sheets are 16mm melamine (chipboard pretty much).  the floor is raised about 50mm, i only wanted it raised just enough so i can get wiring under the floor, and i also had a height limit of the ceiling as its built under an outdoor patio so i couldnt raise the floor too high.

Ive been involved with Denarius from day 1. Im not going to shill it at all, but you need to check it out. one of those gems that have been hidden until its discovered by the masses.

The concept was done all in my head, no plans or anything. just made it up as i went along Smiley

thanks for the reply!

well to be fair, the last shit coin i 'mined' in 2017 for 2 months had me up at $2 million. That coin ended up giving me a 5x on top of that.

Thankyou,

I have an extractor fan mounted on the ceiling and a vent in the wall which has an air filter on it so remove the heat, it works a treat.

Since you're now a Jr. member, you can now post the images to this thread so we can directly view it.

But wait, you have the wallet laying in the same room?
That's kinda risky, if the room got robbed, your wallet will be taken too and your passphrase could be bruteforced.
If possible, use a "watch-only" wallet and keep the spendable one in a more secure device/PC.

Anyways, that's a very well designed room, far better than the usual "dusty-cluttered" room I'm always seeing.

no wallets are not kept in that room, they are all kept offline, and when they are opened, they are opened on a 4G seperate network Smiley
