I am mining in the Eligius Mining Pool and I noticed in the custom user page area it is suggested that I add a "NMC Merged Mining Addr". From what I have read I can tell that this is a Namecoin address. I want to know if I have to run the full Namecoin Wallet to receive these payments, or is it possible to import a key into my Bitcoin Wallet that would allow me to receive payment for NMC Merged Mining. Like using a dual key from a site like this: http://namecoinia.org/

Just sign up for an exchange and have the Namecoins sent to a deposit address generated from your exchange account.   Convert them to Bitcoins on the exchange.
I have been doing this with Cryptsy for some time now and have not had a problem.

I second this suggestion. Cryptsy is an excellent choice for this although any altcoin exchange that has NMC listed as one of their currencies (most do) such as Poloniex or Bittrex can work just as well.

However, if you don't want to go through the hassle of registering an account and linking it to your email address, you can also use ShapeShift.io instead. Simply select the "NMC to BTC conversion" option and paste your Bitcoin address in the right-hand box. The site will automatically generate a valid NMC address which you can send namecoins to. Once the site receives namecoins, it will convert these to bitcoins and deposit them directly into your BTC address:

This is exactly what I needed. Hopefully the NMC address lasts. I did not try this before since I thought maybe they were temporary addresses. Thank you so much.

I was curious about this too since I never actually used ShapeShift.io before (although I've seen very good reviews of them). I asked the question in the official ShapeShift.io thread and it seems that the deposit addresses are permanent:

Hi, how long do deposit addresses remain valid? For instance, if I wanted to convert an altcoin to BTC and entered my BTC address, the site would then give me an altcoin address to deposit coins into. How long would this altcoin address remain valid?

Forever!  Addresses can be re-used indefinitely.
