Has anyone heard of the Elixxir platform? Privacy focused payments application with a messaging functionality is looking to be the truly decentralized WhatsApp alternative. I acutally have experience getting booted off from WhatsApp which I still have no idea what from. Someone once told me it is if you mention the word crypto. Is that true?

Knowing that Elixxir's platform wouldn't outright do that.

I've read Elixxir's cMix protocol. True privacy and scalability especially for incoming payments and messages

All that glitters is not gold. Soon the launch of the telegram open network, so I think that all such "crypto"-messenger applications will die. They are simply not needed when there is a telegram.

Telegram is a centralized app though no? Also no payments can funnel through telegram that's why whatsapp has such a large database

I still doubt whether Watshap provides crypto services.
recently I also got a chain message about bots on watshap.
I ignored it and didn't use it for data security reasons.

Whatsapp banned all crypto functionality and I believe bans even any mentions. Another reason why we would need a decentralized version like elixxir

I was also recently booted from WhatsApp because according to them, I wasn't using a supported version of WhatsApp, I guess the same thing happened to you and it wasn't because you mentioned the word Cryptocurrency, this is just one of the things wrong with a centralised system.
