Why is everyone disagreeing with the idea of having that domain? It is a very good domain to own and has so much potential of course unless they're not creating to create another Bitcointalk.
@OP: You can maybe have a forum that offers tutorials for someone new getting into cryptos? Maybe a blog or something of that sort? The market is quite saturated on all that stuff but a unique idea can really put that domain to use.
Domain names is - cryptoforum.org There is a word "forum" on domain name and logically if there is anything built on this website, it should be a forum. Even if we consider another case, it will be illogical for users when they see cryptoforum as a domain name and see absolutely different staff on website.
Okay, when you want to start a business, you need a good domain name. Cryptoforum.org is really a good domain .com would be a better choice but since bitcointalk has an .org domain, it's logical.
Just wanted to add(because I'm a freakin nerd when it comes to SEO and these kinds of stuff):
a .org domain would actually
sometimes be better for an online forum; "org" is truncated from the word "organization" in the first place. Though it really depends on what kind of look and feel OP has for CryptoForum. Imo, .org's are better for the Bitcointalk-ish traditional style of forums, while .com's would be better for the "trying-to-be-different" sort of style of forums like Reddit and Quora.
But really though, both could work and the advantages and disadvantages of a .com and .org forum wouldn't be THAT significant. It still boils down to management and if the forum actually takes off in the first place(because it's really difficult as fk to grow a forum on a decently established niche).
That's why I mentioned that it's logical that he took .org instead of .com and yes, in this case, .org would function better because of bitcointalk. On another hand, logically bitcoin.com has more value than bitcointalk.org for business purposes.
