I didn't realize this but in 1995, Congress held a round of hearings focused on 'The Future of Money' that focused on the emergence of digital currencies led by David Chaum's companies DigiCash. The purpose of these hearings were in essence to preserve privacy as the internet progresses.

This is quite interesting especially as the recent Libra hearings start to emerge again relating us back to the conversation of the future of money and privacy.

Important read and understanding of emerging technologies and the involvement of legislative solutions. Would like to hear your thoughts.
