LAPC Poker Champ Dennis Blieden, Charged By The FBI With Embezzling $22M From Instagram Marketing Company StyleHaul, Lost 9+ Million Dollars In Stolen Funds To Illegal Cryptocurrency Sportsbook Nitrogen Sports In Sports Gambling & Casino Wagers

The feds say he blew the stolen cash on poker games and cryptocurrency trades — but what they didn't know about, until now, is the millions of dollars lost in sports betting to offshore casino website Nitrogen Sports. Nitrogen Sports offered Blieden higher limits than other customers, enticing him into losing millions of dollars to them.

See all the crazy high roller bets DB made with embezzled funds here:

That's a huge mad loss. $9million to Nitrogen only? According to Daily Beast, Dennis Blieden was seen at poker tournaments with stacks of chips on the table in front of him. And after he broke up with his longtime girlfriend and decamped from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, he hopped from one casino hotel to another, pouring more than $3 million in slot machines, the feds said.

Blieden was arrested Wednesday in Las Vegas.

I don't think there is anything illegal going on with nitrogen part of this story. They literally warn you not to play in countries that ban gambling and it is up to the players to not play there, if you want to play from USA and then claim you are the victim that is the most moronic thing ever, they tell you not to.

They can't just close all of American IP's coming from there, there must be a two way agreement, otherwise it is basically telling people we don't want Americans and would sound racist. Hence they are telling everyone, not just Americans, if your country doesn't allow it, don't play here. If you still insist on playing that is all your own doing. Plus dude is basically a thief that stole money from the company and used it to gamble, how honest would it be, he would have gambled anywhere else with it if it wasn't nitrogen.

3 freaking million in slots? I wonder if he was aware that slots have a bigger house edge when compared to other games like Baccarat and Craps. Foolish move indeed.

Exactly my thoughts. Anyone with a half decent brain could have made a fortune by betting with so much money. Martingale could have worked in this case by sticking to a small percent of you bankroll and betting on value bets.

I can't even imagine how much money that this guy lose from playing slots and lose another money in different gambling games. Even if Dennis Blieden lose lots of money that he stole from StyleHaul, he won't be sad by it since the money he spent to gamble is not earned from his job by working very hard.

I don't think there is anything illegal going on with nitrogen part of this story. They literally warn you not to play in countries that ban gambling and it is up to the players to not play there, if you want to play from USA and then claim you are the victim that is the most moronic thing ever, they tell you not to.
Well, it's entirely he's decision to bet on nitrogensports since owners of a gambling platform will only find a way to make bettors or gamblers to gamble more money until the gamblers/bettors doesn't have any money left. You are right, there is no illegal going on nitrogen since bettors are being warned not to play to a gambling site if your country didn't legalize gambling as you have mentioned. It's entirely Dennis Blieden's fault.

It will be insensitive for fbi to asked Nitrogensports to refund the stolen funds and Nitrogensports as a gambling and betting companies which probably may have been paying tax has the right to do business with anyone including Dennis and that is what they have rightly done .

If it was all stolen funds used as alleged it's real easy to lose that money, there is no personal tie to that money.  It wasnt his to begin with.

He was just too unlucky to use those stolen funds, i think he was too careless since it wasn't him in the first place. I wonder if the FBI will do something about of the named site but they can't just ask for a refund about of that lost money.

Upon reading the article it would probably be the end of his gambling career if he's proven guilty.

The end of his gambling career?  This would be the end of his life if he is proven guilty.  Gambling losses is the least of his worries and he knows this.

The sad part is dude literally gambled away the money he didn't have, it wasn't his money to gamble but he did it anyway, so this was absolutely zero risk for him, he could have given that money away to charity and still wouldn't be down one cent because none of it was his but at the same time if you are risking illegal crimes by stealing from a company than you might as well do something smart, gambling it away sounds such a waste since it would not make any sense to actually commit a crime like stealing but than giving that money away to gambling, I would at least get some houses or use it to run away to another country to not get caught or something, without that it makes no sense to steal because you will end up in jail and have nothing to show for it neither.

That's the thing, you cant really just all of the sudden buy a bunch of houses.  Seems to me he was washing the money through gambling.  If he "wins" a million then you can go out and buy houses.....

Washing dirty money with dirty soap. lol

In that way, he may think he could get away with it just because he planned it well but it turns out it backfired to him in the end. Now someone must have to suffer in cold bars for the rest of their life.

Well, all people do have different mindsets which means if he do plan on the first place on spending those stole funds on gambling then its his choice.
Its really a zero-risk for him yet he didn't own those but you know already the possible consequences behind and since you do know that you are already fucked up
in the end then its better to make yourself enjoy into those last moments. hehe

Now, this is an interesting story! I wonder why the inquiries are not directed towards nitrogen sports for asking proofs of such high income? The outcome will definitely affect the service and maybe there will be a lawsuit against the gambling company as well.

When some big whale are trying to play on your site, do you ask the player where the money comes from? I do not think so because this is a business, no matter how much money do you have there is no need to ask for it. Anyway, this is crypto casino, what do you expect? Even let say it is money loundering, there will be no proof at all for the feds to gain it back. I believe nitrogensport has a strong reason why they do not release the funds that Daniel played before
