Ok, I'm sorry for creating a clickbait title but for the nth time can we please have spoiler tags? I did a quick google search: "spoiler tags site:bitcointalk.org" the following topics popped up.

Never once we have got a response from theymos on this. An official word on this would be appreciated. Has the spoiler tag something to do with the security of the Forum? If so I totally understand why it's being left out. It would be a nice addition tho if we can get those tags. I know you can do a redact trick to the text but this request is more for the purposes of images and other items such as lists.

Good catch!  The HTML is still loaded, even though the text is not shown.  Parsers will always read it - humans may not.

Quotes would be a good idea for this, but then some less than honest individuals would modify the quotes.

The best solution is coming - let machine learning insert spoiler tags (or some other name) when the content is duplicated, and draw attention to it when there are modifications.

@Kuffy There is always the report to moderator button so even if the spoiler tags are being used to spam links as you have suggested the posts can be reported, I don't see how the spoiler tags may hinder the moderation process.

@Vod you don't really need machine learning for finding duplicate content. There are special functions/libraries which can be used for finding duplicate content. I won't go into detail of these as I don't want to derail the topic. But finding duplicate content is already possible and that's all I'm going to say about it.
