Facebook uses different algorithm to track and ban fake and decisive pages. Cointelegraph may have unknowingly triggered it and caused an autoban. But considering the size and influence of cointelegraph, they may have reverted the ban on complaint. Facebook is taking crypto related ads, there's no reason for it to ban a crypto news site.

If they are block with without reasonable cause, we would have known by the announcement of cointelegraph but we haven't read any in their site.

They don't have an idea on why they've been blocked until now. Yes, they will announce if they ever found the cause but there's none. There have been some rumors that they've been personally attacked by facebook but I don't think that Facebook will do that for a cause.

While reading through the op's posts, I've tried to open the cointelegraph's facebook page and If I am not mistaken, the page is still open, and there's still allot of good news on it. Basically, there's not much reason for facebook to ban or block cointelegraphs if it doesn't show any content which is distracting and not following the terms and policies of facebook themselves. So far, we can still see news and be updated about cryptocurrency.

Well, I assume it was due to them getting grilled in the congress. They could make some sort of counter propaganda about their Libra on cointelegraph to get their views liked by the general public and create some sort of backlash to congress (doubtful because most crypto people hate facebook) but at least this way we have a guarantee that they wouldn't be able to do something like that. I wouldn't want them to have any control over crypto news anyway, they shape the news cycles however they wan by letting the fake news get around while banning the news they don't like.

You can write an article about how facebook is selling your info and share it and with one report it would be deleted and banned whereas you can create a fake news about how Libra is awesome and will save the world and with millions of reports it won't be banned. That's how a company becomes centralized.
