Figured there may be some sort of need, just not in the way I thought. So I would like to get some input. Would you prefer new or used? High end or inexpensive?

I would not use a laptop pre-installed with anything for cryptos. Will format hard disk and install everything myself.

Why would I need a special laptop for that anyway?
My single core laptop from, god knows how long ago, can run any security related software I know.

I voted for 500$ only because I think it is worth the money if it meets you expectations. but I'd prefer that the cost be lower for sure, happy shopping.

+1 Most people you would sell crypto based laptops to would probably already know how to take apart a computer and put it back together again, installing stuff on a laptop would be easy for them and pre-built stuff that doesn't like you tinkering with it is notorious for having dodgy stuff and junk on it. |

Wow I wasn't expecting this much feedback for a not so great idea.
My original plan was to get Arch linux running on a decent laptop with all the relevant crypto software. This would be for people who have no interest in doing it themselves either from lack of knowledge or time (of course who knows what kind of people would actually buy it). However as multiple people have pointed out this idea was flawed from the start. There is certainly a massive trust barrier to anything like this. Thanks for all of your input!
