Just what happened? We noticed that a mod has been removed on our Section but still on the Beginners and Help, MiningBuddy still remains... Just exactly what
is happpening here?

He suddenly became active lately on our Board and now he's gone? Did he just resigned or what?

Edit: You might want to read through this thread as it might have some connection; Staff Dabs abusing merit? most especially after this user accused him of begging for coin/money and he accepted to have done such. The qoute below only points out some statements, visit thread to read more.

*I've asked personal friends for coins. Some said yes. Some said no. Got nothing to do with the forum although I understand you feel it may. None of them got any merits from me, except those who posted and I thought the post deserved merits.

*Almost all staff here do a thankless job of trying to keep this forum clean. We get paid a token amount (some get paid more, some get paid less).

*I'll ask you publicly to please kindly send me some coins so I can feed my family. But I'm almost sure you'll say no. Nothing will happen. But then you're posting from a throw-away or disposable looking account, we have no idea who you really are.

Now, if you're some sort of Good Samaritan (I think I've talked enough about religious parables), then my address is in my profile.

Thanks to @TheNewAnon135246 for refreshing my memory

What happened; ask him directly (send him a PM) no statement was made publicly to my best of knowledge. Him or theymos is in the best position to answer your question. We can just speculate, it's either due to his inactivity, misconduct or volunteering withdrawal from the moderation responsibility.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is related to his recent behaviour (sending people PMs, begging for money).

I wouldn't be surprised if it is related to his recent behaviour (sending people PMs, begging for money).
Then if it is, does this also mean we might have another Mod? It's such a waste of him being removed after he just got back on being active on our Board. We truly want a Mod who can also be open to us (what I meant here is someone who can also join discussing things, not just purely like a bot maintaining the good balance across the Board)
AFAIK, some mods on other Local section is quitely having a good relationship with the users on their own Boards and not just having this on their accounts:

This topic has been moved to Trashcan.

Shouldn't be a Mod look like that instead of acting like a bot? LoL. I don't see anything wrong on their current work but having a good relation to us users will be more effective, for we can easily approach them whether we have any concerns or issues.

I already saw that thread when it was freshly baked. LoL. I can't even say a single word on that matter(Merit Giving)  but in his financial status and what he did (Sending PMs) I can trully understand his reasons. I even told him that maybe the admin could help him though. (who knows?) Besides he already been a good user also on the past(Talking about his Charity)

What happened; ask him directly (send him a PM)...
I already did, but no reply yet as of the moment.

I just noticed that.

After these matters were revealed, I would assume that our former local moderator voluntarily stepped down. Whatever the reason, it's probably in the best interest of the entire forum that he's no longer a staff. I guess our local board will still manage despite the loss.

This means that now he can open a charity thread for people who want to feed his family, without having to worry about his reputation as a moderator.
There are better and easier ways to make money on the forum than begging. For instance, a signature space of a staff member is more valuable than that of a legendary. If he were to add this to his normal forum wage I bet it would be enough to keep a big family well fed, especially in the Southeast Asia where everything is dirt cheap.

That said, if he asked me for money and were able to prove that he's in trouble I'd help him instead of ratting him out.

Let's speculate a bit on a Sunday afternoon Cheesy

If that would be the case, removing him as a Merit source would make more sense. Recently one was removed, but there was also a topic from someone else asking to be removed.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is related to his recent behaviour (sending people PMs, begging for money).
Although I only read about this recently, I think it happened a while ago, and I think Dabs learned from it.

Theymos still has Dabs on his Trust list.

Just got an answer, will now lock this thread.
And I think its better to keep it private, I understand now the whole situation. Though it really is such a waste to have Dabs to be removed after 3 years or so...
