You can't be wrong if you put your money on Dash.
Dash is a well known and established project, as the history shows us.
What I like on Dash is it's instant TX and if you have the resources to run a masternode, then you will get a nice passive income (another +).

Dash is good for long term masternode kind of passive earning. But, it requires very big capital to setup and due to this reason only whales are making use of those benefits.

I doubt about Dash's future as there are many coins are coming out with non-traceable blockchain algorithms like Grin. Monero must be a long term competitor for Dash which means we cannot be sure which one will hit mainstream adoption and which one may remain as it is today. But, we can invest into Dash with long term perspective as it got enough recognization to be staying with us for decades.

Anyway, this coin has failed to fulfill the hopes from the investors. During the past two years or so, it has lost more than 90% of its value.

Most altcoins lost between 80% to 95% of their value, during the bear market. It is a bit unfair to just pin that on Dash.
  


And you sure missed out, by not investing in Dash before 2017. But lets be realistic : every cryptocurrency is subject to manipulation, has pumps and dumps, is volatile and is subject to
long term trends / cyclus. Maybe when there is mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency in general in 5-10-15 years or more, that will change. Or maybe not.

It is definitely oversold and will bounce back hard.

thankies for the wonderful info . im not into dash so id dont know that they create masternodes although i already heard that term before  but im still quite confuse with this masternode thing.  anyway  , your right . dash was an old age coin and its batch were eth , doge , ltc and so on . most of this old coins that i named dont also released something new , just like dash . you said dash dont come up with something new ? but this does not mean that they are becoming bad now .

As for me, it’s a very good option for investments, because for a long time dash has been very high in the cryptocurrency market and the volume of trading with this cryptocurrency is constantly growing and this means that many investors are interested in making a profit using this cryptocurrency.

It is also the reason why Coinbase Pro only requires two transaction confirmations on Dash deposits (making Dash 12 times faster with regards to deposits then Bitcoin).

LLMQ-based InstantSend : making 90% of Dash transactions InstantSend transactions (send, receive and spend within a few seconds) without any additional cost and protected against double spending. InstantSend used to be optional with additional fees, it is now active by default without any additional fees.

Dash Platform : this is a very large and instrumental update for Dash, that will be tested and rolled out to Dash Mainnet in different phases and through different wallet versions. Dash Platform will change Dash from functioning as just a cryptocurrency, to Dash functioning as a platform where decentralized services and decentralized apps can be run on. This has been in development for 5 years now and is currently on Dash Public Testnet (named Evonet). Dash has been inventing plenty lately, you just did not notice it. Most likely because you were not paying attention to Dash.

Dash is ok but the problem with altcoins like Dash and similar is they are second level altcoins. What I mean by that is they arent leaders of the industry and this is still a niche market with limited demand. If somebody has money and wants to enter the space why would he choose Dash over BTC, ETH, BCH? They are better known, more valuable, have a greater user base, trade on more exchanges. Dash is for people who are already in the space but want to try out something new or have the money to run a node.

Although this is an old post but I wish to say a thing or two. In my opinion, Dash is one of the good coins we have in this crypto space which has withstood the test of time just like others. Its community is huge, its use case keeps making it valuable as it keeps growing while attracting more users. Therefore I think, owing to its growth till date, it is good for investing both for long term and short term, but however for short term, find a good entry point so as to maximize profits.

Dash is an open source cryptocurrency. It is an altcoin that was forked from the Bitcoin protocol. It is also a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) run by a subset of its users, which are called "masternodes". The currency permits transactions that can be untraceable. in which it Masternodes provide two additional kinds of transactions.
"InstantSend" bypasses mining and instead requires a consensus of masternodes to validate a transaction, speeding transactions.  "PrivateSend" is intended to make transactions untraceable; it mixes participating users' unspent Dash before executing a transaction.

I don't think all coins can be a place for investment. When you choose a dash for long-term investment, it is still possible because the dash has a platform that can still be useful to make it easier for some people to make transactions but in cryptocurrency you should know that the price can suddenly collapse so you must remain vigilant when making long-term investments on cryptocurrency.
