Blockchain certificates are offered more on online video tutorials, you'd probably liked it to be video online for you can keep reviewing the video and ask the video tutor for support if you find it difficult to understand. Unless you just download the course from torrent sites you don't get support but Udemy teachers offers support when you subscribed to them.

I'm aware. But those are just certificates which are not as great as a degree, in my own opinion. With either a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Blockchain technology from a reputable college or University, you'll be able to stand among other professionals in the industry. Mainstream companies will give more credibility to Blockchain Experts that have graduated from a mainstream University, than those who not. We're still early to talk about this, since Blockchain is just 11 years old. I think that's a short amount of time, for someone to become an expert in the field (although Vitalik Buterin is quite knowledgeable about how Blockchain works). Over time, we'll be able to see mainstream Universities offering Blockchain degrees if the need arises. As long as there is money involved, you can expect a degree of anything today.

Nonetheless, both Udemy and Coursera seem to be solid platforms which provide serious education about Blockchain technology. They're a great choice for becoming an expert until mainstream Universities start offering Blockchain degrees to the world. So far, there's only one University (University of Nicosia) which has started offering a Master's Degree in Blockchain technology (as far as I'm aware). But I'd expect renowned Universities like Cambridge University, Cornell University, and even MIT to start offering Blockchain degrees sometime in the future. Smiley

I think it's better to learn on your own, people in IT says IT moves fast and by the time you finish learning it on school it's already outdated, i don't know if this applies to blockchain but i think you can get by faster if you learn it by yourself, you can take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Blokchain industry can be said to be relatively new, there are still many countries or people who are not familiar with the era of digital crypto. But I believe that in the future blokchain is very necessary and can be made as an undergraduate degree in blokchain industry.

I don't know if certificates are going to be honored by companies going to hire you if you care going to look for a job in blockchain. The teams would probably ask for your github and what you have come up prior to your application. Contributions to the industry will probably be preferred by those companies too. Udemy and the likes certificates I think is acceptable.

I think it makes more sense to learn on your own and/or take a course than to study an entire 4-5 year degree. Thereare so many tutorials and courses online, I recommended Dacade .org, this is no promotion, I'm learning rigth now there and I really like it.

That's certainly true, mate. What employers look first, is if you have a portfolio with all the work you've done over time. This is what makes your resume stand out, above anything else. Maybe a Blockchain certification will suffice? I have seen many popular online course sites like Udemy and Coursera which offer Blockchain courses and a certificate of completion. Better yet, there are certifications provided by established organizations which makes you stand out even more from the crowd. There's the Certified Bitcoin Professional Certification (CBP), and the Certified Ethereum Developer Certification (CED), which you can obtain in order to get a better chance of applying for a Blockchain-related job. The best part, is that you can take exams online at the comfort of your home.

Rest assured, that if mainstream colleges and Universities start offering Blockchain-related degrees, there will be a "boom" in the number of Blockchain professionals within the mainstream world. After all, these institutions provide quality education that's useful for your professional career. Time will tell us, if it's cost-effective (and viable) to provide Blockchain-related degrees to the world or not. In all ends, you get to learn more about the Blockchain doing self-learning than anything else. Just my opinion Smiley

Actually it depends on the person. Some wanted to learn with legit approach I mean with certain certificates and approved institution but, there are people learn in their own way. Internet is powerful and if you know how to grasp anything from it you dont need a diploma if you can manage better what professional can do. The only good thing is, you can be proud of your achievement when you have one. But for some people they learn blockchain for other purposes which primarily focus on money.

That's certainly true, mate. While self-learning helps, it's always best to have some sort of certification or degree that will give credibility to your resume for employers to see. Still though, the ultimate indicator of your skills would be your portfolio itself than a certification or degree from an accredited institution. Mainstream universities and colleges could start offering Blockchain-related degrees in the future, if the need arises. After all, they wouldn't want to miss an opportunity of making money. There's an online university out there called "Woolf University" which is based on Blockchain technology. It offers many degrees that are well-known in the real world today (although they don't offer Blockchain degrees yet).

Nonetheless, I believe that most Universities have been skeptical about offering Blockchain-related courses as content can be found easily online. There are a wide array of educational materials available at your fingertips online for free, which can help you turn into a professional quickly without the need for a degree. Today's most prominent figures in the crypto space (Vitalik Buterin and Andreas Antonopoulos) don't have a Blockchain-related degree but they're still considered experts in the industry. Which means that you don't necessarily need to go to a University or College to become successful in the field of crypto and Blockchain technology. Just my thoughts Grin
