GreenAddress Login Problem... Does anyone else having issue?

Desktop / Chrome Apps:
I'm trying to login with my PIN but it just not working suddenly. There is no error msg, so not sure what is the problem.

Mobile:
I can log in with my PIN but unfortunately I cannot send money.

This is the error showing in my mobile when I scanned URI of bitpay.

Code:

[json.exception.out_of_range.403]key 'address' not found

Possibly the error is showing instead of the send button I guess. Then I tried to manually type the amount but even then the send button is not visible.

Anyone else having any issue with GreenAddress? Can anyone check if the problem is universal or just me?

Did you try emailing them? AFAIK, GreenAddress is a custodial wallet, right?

I've just tried to log in to the desktop version and it worked just fine.

For the phone version, It's strange that the manual typing of the address and the amount didn't work, but for the QR scanning, It's probably because the wallet doesn't support BIP70.

I was trying to deposit at namecheap>bitpay and I used GreenAddress and I always used it in the past, never got a problem. So I don't think its an issue for BIP70 or anything else similar to this.

I was able to login after restarting the PC and was able to send the payment. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to check with the phone as I have used the URI via desktop.

Now having confirmation delay issue, when I even used "bump fee". It's almost 6 hrs now transaction hasn't confirmed and I can't hope the transaction to confirm maybe for another 6 hrs.

It's the usual story... you've just hit a bad patch of a LOT of transactions... the network is busy right now:


There are around 30,000 unconfirmed transactions. So, depending on your fee it could take a while to get a confirmation.

You can get an idea of where your transaction is effectively sitting in the "queue".

You should not use rbf when paying a bitpay invoice.
Bitpay will detect the hash id of your transaction and by using rbf you create a new transaction with new hash id. The first transaction will be rejected and will be considered as invalid by bitpay
That's why they always ask you to pay higher fees than what's actually needed.

BitPay sucks

When I sent the payment using GreenAddress I set "High Priority" for the fee, but GreenAddress used 1 sat per byte and in total 604 sats for the fee.
Then I realized GreenAddress is also abnormal like Blockchain. So now I don't understand what is the meaning of those "High, Normal, Low, Economy Priorities" for the fee in their platforms.

Regarding Bitpay = RBF,
After the above issue, I used "Bump Fee" and I didn't know at that point that Bitpay doesn't accept RBF until I saw your post tonight.
But the good thing is, it worked - after RBF, it took around 4 hrs for the transaction to be confirmed and successfully deposited the money to Namecheap.

Now I think Bitpay is also abnormal, and in other words Bitpay Sucks.

Before, I saw they write something like XX sat/B, but yesterday I saw in some places XX sat/kb. So to make custom fee, as an example we'd have paid 10 sat/B, so how much we pay for sat/kb

Not quite sure what you mean... But no, the fee "system" hasn't changed.

Some wallet apps/explorers also use sat/kB... like Bitcoin Core:



And some use sat/B... then there are some that use "Weight Units" or "Virtual Bytes/kiloBytes"

Anyway, the difference between sat/B and sat/kB is 1000... so, in your example... if you wanted 10 sat/B... you multiply by 1000 and get 10,000 sat/kB... going the other way, if you had 52,000 sat/kB, you divide by 1000 and it shows 52 sat/B.

NOTE that bitcoin is using 1000 for "kilo" prefix... not 1024.

I wanted to refer to the issue I mentioned earlier which is SAT/B and SAT/KB, but I was unable to find a proper word for the issue, that's why I wrote "fee system". It's like I was lost somewhere and couldn't find a proper word(s) and it seems still I'm lost... LOL!

Thank you very much for the explanation... Now I'm also wondering why I couldn't understand the simple math...
