One of the Biggest Universities in Western Australia Launches Cryptocurrency

"The Cryptocurrency PhD Scholarship Fund will enable companies and individuals to help PhD students study blockchain, cybersecurity and data analysis through cryptocurrency funding, higher education programs will be successfully funded through bitcoin or ethereum, which according to school officials will help popularize cryptocurrency as a method of payment.

Curtin University Excellence Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research Professor Garry Allison notes that the fund is a good opportunity for cryptocurrency investors to foster a new generation of PhD graduates who will help develop this new technology.

"By establishing a PhD Cryptocurrency Scholarship Fund, Curtin will provide opportunities for entrepreneurs who have realized the significant benefits of cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin and Ethereum to give something back to this community," said Professor Allison.

And In recent months, other educational institutions such as Dublin City University and the University of British Columbia have launched blockchain technology programs. While Dublin City University partnered with the Irish ICT Skillnet network of technology companies to offer master's degrees, the University of British Columbia announced graduate training in blockchain technology.

In 2013, the University of Nicosia in Cyprus became the first university in the world to allow students to pay in bitcoin."

i think students should know and learn about blockchain with decentralized system and cryptography my friend

I think if all universities all over the required crypto as a subject, every crypto featured will be better soon. Because all we know the quality of study and experiment that student can do because of knowledge and technology that they can easily adopt. Let's accept the fact that student nowadays is a better learner because of technology so if crypto became a subject more idea will gather to make crypto's features better.

l have no doubt that is a great idea. It is a big chance to learn about cryptocurrency and of course how does Blokchain work? More than that students have to be in interested about it. We didn't have such as chance. We have learnt only ourselves. It is really amazing that, we have such a unique opportunity.

That's great then. It seems they are trying to produce an expert in cryptocurrency or blockchain field with proper education and that funds is their investment for longterm. However I wonder how the fund could avoid the fluctuation if was sent in form of ETH or BTC considering that the market is not mature enough.
Maybe the students will just outright cash it out when they receive it?

Awesome news, because Australia has always supported crypto currencies and is still one of the leading countries in this area. Maybe it would overcome China and Malta by launching their own crypto currency first.

good. I feel educating kids about cryptocurrency in university and college is the first step for the better future for blockchain and cryptocurrency. There are many who can't separate the two and this should fill that gap.

I have heard about the University of Nicosia in Cyprus but their tuition fees are higher than average. The main purpose is to prepare the students as a blockchain enthusiast with professional training sets. The young industry should be analyzed carefully by the professionals and these professionals have to teach the new generation.

I've never heard about that news, why the medias didn't report this and make it part of a fun facts about universities?
These universities can really see the growth of crypto and blockchain. They don't want to miss the chance that their students would venture into this technology and get an opportunity for it.
Hopefully in the future, more universities will do the same.

It is a good thing, just thinking some universities will be onto Bitcoin gives a good impression on crypto. Aside from that it is a source of knowledge, a place where some intelligent people are. The fact that it is in there means some people will acknowledge it, accept that it is legit and can be trusted.

Sounds like an interesting way to make people got interested into studying blockchain anad crypto currency. I hope they can deal with the volatility of crypto  but overall it's the most efficient way to popularize crypto by letting people use it themselves considering that most of people after hearing crypto they just do nothing and not even trying to use simply because they thought it'd be a waste of time which actually not true.
