Bandwidth is in constant high and growing demand. Everyone want fast and high quality video streaming and there seems to never be enough bandwidth for everyone, no matter how fast connection you have. This is because your bandwidth is prioritized to government and corporations. You get the leftover bandwidth. One way to have a smooth running fast internet with best bandwidth is using a mesh network. In a mesh network nodes relay bandwidth to each other. For tokenizing a mesh network and measuring and validating the bandwidth to value, you need to adopt the Proof-of--Bandwidth algorithm. I predict this could be like the next Bitcoin.

Sounds good and if this tech can solve the internet speed issues around the world then obviously community will definitely support it, the market already needs such practical solutions and community is also fed up of bogus projects that can be confirmed from low ico investments currently. I am sure with quality solutions and projects the investor will be back in the market.

It can solve it but people are so lazy. They don't want to build Mesh networks. Tokenizing a mesh network and allowing people to speculate on it could really boost mesh enthusiasm. A mesh network is also decentralized and much more private and secure than a centralized ISP.

It has to be done in a Mesh Network. That's the key of free decentralized internet. Nothing can be truly decentralized as long as you use centralized Internet Service providers.

indeed the demand for bandwidth will continue to increase in the future, this is due to the adoption of the 5G network. but replacing a previously centralized system into decentralization requires a high cost. and I think adding storage for bandwidth in the mainstream way will be cheaper. if proof-of-bandwidth is better, companies like google, netflix, or apple must have started developing this method. because you know those companies really need bandwidth to make users more comfortable.

I believe it is only a matter of time before companies will look seriously into this aspect. Or maybe they are already doing their research as we speak. Adoption of 5G network is already starting in some countries, so I guess this kind of algo will soon hit the community.

Sounds interesting OP but the fact is people don't invest on projects anymore because of their Algorithm, this rains in 2017 but not anymore today, now any projects that have nothing more than a new kinda Algorithm will fail due to lack of investors

That's quite true, the urge for more bandwidth will continue to increase because nowadays there are many things to learn online which in most cases the tutorial and teachings is via video streaming, so it can be seen that the need for more bandwidth will only but continue rising. Also, yes it looks like a young and untapped potential but remember since the government are involved it will likely take time and as such will need a team of experts who are really ready to work hard. Just that nowadays, most projects team always look nonchalant but if a team will work on this, and are serious about it, the right users and investors will surely get involved.

Yes and as Google is actually providing the bandwidth and delivering the videos for free, just to maintain their market leader position, this is making it increasingly expensive for them. It's not good business unless the economics of bandwidth are changed radically. Proof-of-Bandwidth cryptocurrencies would set a market value for bandwidth and people would start to "mine" bandwidth with mesh relays.

Yes I get this but we have also a Mesh Network that you can join and invest in hardware and "mine" bandwidth. This is more than just value transaction. This is providing a free, secure and decentralized internet for you and your neighbors. Becoming your own ISP.
