I've just discovered this series that it's about financial crimes and cryptocurrencies.

I saw just the two first episodes and boy... All the non-sense bullshit that it's thrown by the girl of the gencoin it drives me crazy.

  • A decentralized stable crypto.
  • A crypto for the people but created only by one person, why don't let people to collaborate lol?
  • She needs initial capital for what?? To create a fake network ?? which will be controlled by her??
  • She created his own encryption, best idea ever bro
  • She puts 2 million dolars into "secured cells", wtf is supposed to mean that?

Someone that already saw this show can tell me if it's worth ? Does it get better ? I like the financial crimes premise and some of the actors are very good (the fbi agent and the Haitian guy), but I don't know if I can handle so much crypto bullshit.

ive watch all 3 seasons.. and no it doesnt get any more factually accurate.
it pivots more towards ICO and gangsta stuff.. not so much blockchain tech

its pretty much about then trying to get investment. company takeovers, drug and ganster payments. money laundering

even i found it funny how they went on the premiss of needing investment to invent currency.

the second season is more about corporate takeover and police trying to catch them.
the third season is more about gangster angle

I guessed so. After the ending of Mr Robot (and Silicon Valley and Halt & Catch Fire), I wanted to find some other tv show about computer science. I do better watch other things then.

Thanks!

yep best to find something else
and to save you another search.. a movie called 'crypto' is just a few splashings of the buzzwords 'mining' & 'bitcoin'.. but too isnt really computer sciency. its more SEC investigating money laundering of a russian mafia that end up holding people hostage for blackmail.

and if you are keen on 'computer science stuff' if you find a show talking about quantum being described as some alternate universe thing. then its bull crap and they have no clue. so not a good reference to learn from

I don't think Amazon Startup Series is un-intelligent because Amazon is so popular when it comes to online shopping. Everything starts with searching for information and then working before it starts That's why computer science helps you find and learn about yourself.
