Here is a fake offer: Elon Musk — Official ETH and BTC Giveaway

This is the fake site: http://muskgift.com/

This will show you a UI similar to Medium platform but, please note that medium platform URL has medium.com. This is fake.

Do not send funds to this offer. I would say do not send funds such stupid things.

The comments shown on the site are fake as the UI itself is faking medium.

Or literally just stop clicking on "giveaway" links in general, regardless if who's name is being used. There are literally a crap ton of similar "giveaway" sites getting spammed on Elon Musk's and other famous tech people's Twitter feed.

If someone thinks that sending money to an unknown person on the internet and they will send back 10x of that amount then they are a fool. And a fool and their gold part quickly. This is the reason why such scams exist and people still fall for them because of the hope for being rich blinds their judgement.

You can post in as many forums as you want but people rarely come to a forum to become knowledgeable about such things. It would be good if they used their logic but that has been blunted out since a long time. No wonder tech scammers make a good living than whitehat hackers.

I can say that only naive or greedy people will fall on this kind of trap. Remember that there's no easy way to get Bitcoin, airdrop? Probably not beyond 100 sats and maybe it requires a huge amount before you can withdraw. IMO, I did not interested in collecting bitcoin airdrop, they are wasting on time and probably led you to this scammy site.

Obviously the link shows unsafe, you can post like this so that this is not clickable to others.
Code:
http://muskgift.com/

This is a good warning to those newbies who probably did not know this and I think Beginners & Help is the appropriate board since there are too many newbies who visit there.
Just scroll down and find "move topic".

As long as people fall for Nigerian Princes who inherited $50 million but need your $5000 to unlock the bank account, people will definitely fall for scam giveaways.

People haven't figured out yet that free money doesn't exist, expecially when it's too good to be true. If you are sitting on your lazy ass all day, you don't know what the value of money is. In other words, you don't know how difficult it actually is to make money. These people are the easiest victims and represent quite a large group at the same time.

Quite often there are live videos going on on youtube where scammers pretend to be Coinbase or Ripple CEO and give away huge sums of money. In real time you can see how many fools are sending coins to their addresses. The worst part is that youtube hasn't done much to combat these scammers, while they were fast to strike legit crypto content creators on their platform.  Roll Eyes

Thanks for sharing. I don't think there will be a lot of people become victim of this.
You better move the thread into Beginners and Help because all the victims of this fake giveaways are the newbie. Besides, this is not a service discussion I think. It's about reputation/scam etc.

Indeed since for sure many people got curious if this one is true especially if this is truly legit and elon musk is the one behind this event, and people should be more aware that this scammer who use a fake site is totally crazy since if they will try that a 100% that they can not get their money back so better if they think more before they believe on some sites and be vigilant always.

if people will only have common sense and just do a research and ask the forum first, no one would be scammed, but people want to be the first one to receive a giveaway and get the biggest slice, this is what happens to one guy and he is not even a newbie in thi skind of stuff, he is just not fully aware of this trick.

No matter how much you try to warn people, some are just so greedy and it blinds them a lot. That's why we still have people sending money to ponzi schemes despite the type of scamming being a number of decades old and having lots of warnings around the web.

You should post this in the correct subforum, Beginners and Help.

That'll raise more awareness among the newbies.
I think even scam accusations board would be appropriate since most members search the board to verify if certain projects/giveaways/ICOs are scams and have already been reported there.

Anyone who would fall for this is plain stupid. Sad that people are this desperate to scam money off people. They could have earned more if they focused on doing something better other than scamming people.
Anyways, post it no the "Scam Accusation" board. That is the correct place for this kind of threads. Just gather some proof, post it and let people know about them. Like the user above me said, many people goes through to the scam accusation section in order to how legit a site/project/coin etc is.

Yes, but there are still people who fall for this kind of trick. It's just sad though, we should be very very careful and use common use before investing on this so called 'giveaways'. There is no shortcut in earning Bitcoin, so I don't understand why people thinks that someone will readily give you money without doing anything.

Or literally just stop clicking on "giveaway" links in general, regardless if who's name is being used. There are literally a crap ton of similar "giveaway" sites getting spammed on Elon Musk's and other famous tech people's Twitter feed.

When you see a word "Giveaway", make sure you do not spend anything to get it. If the site is asking to deposit some amount and then you will get that giveaway, that's a pure scam and do not be greedy and fall for it. They will collect the money and walk away.
However, Giveaways which are totally free are not scams and you can get them if you like.
