Hi,
I was looking for a quality POW crypto after ETH migration to POS, that supports smart contracts. I found one, which is ranked..... 186 on coingecko. Did I miss something? Is there any other crypto that is POW and supports smart contracts?

For ERGO, I found the team is really solid, they've been working on it since 3 years, and the project is pretty much advanced and has already some use cases. I'm also in line with their philosophy and their roadmap.

The only unfortunate thing is that the price is pumping since very recently...

We can not predict anything with 100% surety,  what is going to happen after Ethereum merger, most likely hard fork will happen and Ethereum will split into 2 tokens ETHS & ETHW, majority is supporting ETHS but many exchanges like MEXC have also listed ETHW and its trading is going on there. The tokens created on Ethereum will work on both block chains and token holders will get 2 tokens, one on each block chain. This is what likely to happen but I am not 100% sure. I think you can mine ETHW if it performs well after the merger. DYOR

The best one is kadena, this is a Proof of Work project and it has a very active team, the only problem is mining profitability, the reward is lower compare to Ethereum and Ethereum Classic mining.

Sounds interesting if  ERGO coin is a POW/POS cryptocurrency based on Ethereum with some unique features. but what is important here is about the use of ERGO tokens and others later although It has the power to support smart contracts, which is not possible in ordinary cryptocurrencies.

This is interesting, thanks for participating (I don't have any merits to give you).

I did not know that a POW ETH crypto will stay. Maybe those ETH holders who want POW will stick with ETHW after all.

I just saw today, by pure chance, that somehow this project is associated with the names SEC and JP Morgan for some reason. I won't bother looking further, not for trading reasons, maybe it will perform better, but just because I am also looking for a crypto long term that is in line with my values.

No, ERGO is not a token, it has its own blockchain. They've got their own DEX, that seems to be working well, and a lot of other ongoing projects that I did not look at yet (except for the mixer that they proudly say it's "non custodial"). Their founder looks really passionate about his job from what I've seen. Upon checking the key figures in this project, they tweet a lot about the importance of trustless systems, privacy, and the original principals of the foundation of Bitcoin. I like it. I don't get to see that much often in other spaces, other than price speculation, hype, some nice ideas, but not about what really crypto was supposed to be in the first place.

A problem I see though is that the founder is not a good speaker unfortunately, which might exclude some type of investors and even some potential users.

Thanks for the compliments. Staking of Ethereum is a good option to generate passive income but we need minimum 32 ETH to qualify for staking which everybody can not afford. It will be interesting to see if ETHW continues working as competitor of Ethereum like ETC and performs to the expectations of its investors then it could be cheaper option for staking. Currently it is listed on coinmarketcap and being traded on many exchanges.

I hope ETHW will be a better PoW project and profitable just like Ethereum because ETC is not profitable to mine compare to few other algorithms, SuperSero algo ProgPow is still profitable than ETC and even Kawpow algo for Neox coin is better.

Hi,
I was looking for a quality POW crypto after ETH migration to POS, that supports smart contracts. I found one, which is ranked..... 186 on coingecko. Did I miss something? Is there any other crypto that is POW and supports smart contracts?

Ethereum classic I think can be the best option for POW crypto, for now I have found a dapp that runs on ethereum classic that has almost no fees when transacting, you can check here.

The first link is a DEX on Ethereum classic. I also did not know that Etherum classic had smart contracts. So yeah thanks for the info!

personally i think smart contracts on pow chains wont exist no longer. no one need to waste their energy and money for slow process. pos is better than pow. ethereum could be the last pow smart contract platform that had a massive people attraction. people will move to pos i.m.o. what are your ideas??

I would guess that it is not about what the ranks are, because most of the projects these days do not have mining or staking, they are just "there" you know? These projects that we are talking about such as btc, eth, etc so forth are all projects that are old and started back when you simply released the project and that was it, these days people literally sell their created tokens for funds to build projects so I do not think that you really need to compare ETH to anything else.

If it becomes POS then it becomes POS, it will be supporting smart contracts if they say it will and there is absolutely no other reason to doubt it and do not need to compare it to anything else.

For ERGO, I found the team is really solid, they've been working on it since 3 years, and the project is pretty much advanced and has already some use cases. I'm also in line with their philosophy and their roadmap.

The only unfortunate thing is that the price is pumping since very recently...
check hathor network too , its POW projeyct that also developt nano smart contract which is said will be best smart contract in cryptocurrency. recently they running test net and looking defi project that will run in their platform. for information hathor network having halving each year, at eary january its halve from 64 to 32 htr for each block, and next halving will be 32 to 16 for each block. next halving will be good moment for this project, it will run parallelly with main net , and investors will wait it.

Once the migration completes, it won't be surprising to see every projects on the ethereum network using the the proof of works migrated to the proof of stakes. We saw that in the failed LUNA project where every projects built on the old LUNA migrated with to the new one after it was launched. The difference is just that LUNA created a new blockchain which isn't the case in this ethereum 2.
Migration into a new smart contract can happen once they succeed on this migration, this is already expected and probably this can be a good reason for the price pump especially with ETH. There’s a lot of projects now that shows interest to do the migration, and probably ETH pushed this through because they also know that other projects will support this migration.

Only consensus that will be changed and why people are so noisy about this. It will not change anything other than consensus that being used by ethereum blockchain and so when it goes to the POS and nothing happened with all of smartcontracts that already built in ethereum blockchain. It seems like that if you didn't also understand meaning of this thread as well. If the fork will come and then it will not also change the smartcontract.
