hi all,

has anyone have their funds locked up by Bitfinex before because of 2fa?

recently i made the switch to Bitfinex as i learnt about their funding capabilities thus i decided to try it out.  unfortunately, i lost my damn phone and i've forgetten to back up my 2fa.

i followed their instructions and submitted all documentations required.

it have been 3 weeks since my 2fa reset and not only i cant withdraw any of my assets, the team only replies to my email 3-4 days after each email. this is so frustrating!

in fact, this is the first time i've submitted so much information! i've reset my 2fa in binance, bittrex and coinbase and all of my issues were solved within 3 days.

does anybody knows anyone in bitfinex that can help me? or have anyone met with the same situation and how long it took before it is solved?

I've read their terms and conditions with regards to resetting 2fa and withdrawal hold.
After confirming by email, your 2FA will be reset and your account will be put on temporary withdrawal hold. The duration of the withdrawal hold will be between 5 and 15 days, depending on your account equity.

You can also submit another ID if your Bitfinex account is KYC verified.
Account holders that are KYC verified can request to have the withdrawal hold lifted before the five days will have passed. In this case, ID verification image will need to be submitted on https://www.bitfinex.com/verification.

I think your funds will be fine. I'm guessing that they couldn't reply fast enough and probably processing your case in a slow manner because of the pandemic. It's mostly the same with probably 90%+ of services and companies in general right now due to most being on a skeleton crew.

I guess OP's case has already lapse, he said it's been 3 weeks already, so that should be 21 days.

You must be careless with your 2fa, that' money, so you should be careful about it. I think sites have different procedure, but in your case if you have complied everything they ask for, I guess there's a problem with you account as it already lapse on the processing period, for now, what you can do is just to continue making follow up on the support and hope you'll receive a good answer soon.

yup ive read their tnc as well.

i was told there will be a 5 days hold. but it have been 23 days now, considering the maximum of 15 days hold, it should be unlocked by 20th.

sigh, this is so frustrating, there is so much ALT movement now and i cant withdraw to my other exchanges to trade.

sigh!!! im so disappointed with the service standard

Sorry to say this, but your changes are few to none, to get a reasonable answer in a reasonable time. This is a commun issue with those big exchanges, but i can ensure you that your funds are safe until the issue is resolved.

Determining the duration is related to the account activity and their ability to verify identity. Finally, the account is still working, but they need to make sure that you are the account holder in order to activate the withdrawal option.
The platform is popular so you do not have to worry and it is better to visit the account using IP addresses and devices that you use often to reduce doubts about your identity.

contact them support team, They are the only ones who can solve the problem and don't believe anyone who says he knows them or can communicate with them.
