[April Fools] New Trust System For Trolls

Due to the influx of trolls in the forum since the last april fools joke, as per my suggestion there is now a second trust system for identifying trolls. This "troll system" as its called will augment the trust system.

Each user will now have Troll: +0 =0 -0 under their profile. The green tag is left when someone is writing in a manner you do not agree with when you do conversational activities with them. The neutral tag is left when you have additional information about the user that may or may not indicate that the user is a troll. The red tag is left when you strongly suspect that a user is not a troll, or if conversational activity with them indicates otherwise. Users with more red troll than green troll will have a warning banner displayed above all the topics they start, saying:



Here is a template of a troll rating of an (extremely) obnoxious person. In this case they are so obnoxious that a special warning is displayed under their rating:



The report to moderator button has been made obsolete by this new change. Instead, you tag with post reference a user with green troll if their post violates moderation policy, and it will be added to the moderation backlog.

In line with the feedback pages for Trust, there will also be a trusted and untrusted feedback page for trolling. A sample page is below:

In addition to default trust there will also be a Default Troll which is a group of users who are verified trolls. These trolls can select other users on their troll list, who will then be on Default Troll 2. The same logic for Default Trust tag visibility also apply to Default Troll. The rationale is that the feedback of users who are untrollworthy will not appear on the list because they have a bad sense of humor.

Theymos has approved of this forum update, not withstanding other April Fools posts which may happen simultaneously.

This announcement was made as incoherent as possible to maximize obnoxiousness to readers.

Theymos' recent upgrade to some of the spam-heavy boards to reduce spam bumping seems to be working well, or at least as intended.  The strategy of adding a "bump-score" to threads to keep them closer to the top of the board is ingenious, in my opinion.  

It got me thinking about another possible application of a "score rating."  One for trolls.  I was thinking that a button on each user's profile page to tag that user as a troll could start to count towards that user's "Troll Score."  A similar approach to users' bumping power can be applied to the each user's troll-tagging power.  Again, a decaying effect of tagging someone as a troll could be applied to reduce it's long-term affects on that user's profile.

Then come some restrictions to the trolls:  If their troll-score gets too high they are restricted from creating new threads.  Higher still, and a possible temp-ban is in order.  What do you guys think?

ETA:
Much of the humor of Theymos' April Fools jokes requires it to be a bit of a surprise.  Threads like this just ruin it for everyone.  Lock or better yet, nuke it, please!
