The system is set up in such a way in North Korea that it wouldn't make a difference. While the leader is untouchable, the party rules with an iron fist and picks successors that would continue things exactly as they are, oddly enough from the same family...
So this "getting happy" about the leader dying is utter nonsense. In fact they would be forced to act sad and mourn for days. But in reality they probably don't care who the ruler is, its just like the kings of the past, they are just subjects and that is that.
When the previous two died what changed? Nothing.
This statement is chalk full of conjecture. N Korea today is not the same N Korea of old. Kim was educated outside N Korea so that he could receive a legitimate education, and to learn about the real world (something he does not allow in N Korea). This alone nearly proves he’s not completely brainwashed, likely just the opposite. His meetings with Trump is proof of this, as well as his recent peace talks with the South. Kim understands the walls are caving in, and it’s why he’s not continued things as they’ve always been. Unprecedented peace talks and a lot of little things here and there (meeting with Rodman and a recent Vice News report that showed a N Korean “guide” talking about the hardships/ hard times N Korea is going through- this is something never allowed to be discussed before !).
There are plenty of people there who want change and absolutely care who their ruler is. They still have prison camps, they send slaves all over the world to work slave labor for the country, people escape to China as often as possible etc. Countless aren’t okay with this..they care! They just can’t do anything about it..yet.
If it weren’t for the Chinese commies protecting them, their current regime would have fallen by now.
This is also the same reason they felt it okay to fire at the south demilitarized zone just today.
