Building scalable applications on Bitcoin

6 years ago I was fresh in the job market. Went to search for jobs on platform but I realized that the game was rigged.

So over the years, I went back to uni, thought about the idea, fine tuned until it finally struck: A decentralized freelancing platform would level the playing field. Bitcoin is the future.

Decentralized freelancing platforms are not a new concept, but decentralization does not fix the core problems in freelancing. Your "rigged game" wasnt the platform, it was your lack of experience. Thats probably why you couldnt get any gigs. Other problems with these platforms relate to the quality of the work, reputation, and the relationships between clients and freelancers. But, none of these issues are solved just because of going to a blockchain. Bitcoin is not the future for this. And, decentralization is not some magic bullet for everything. Some platforms simply work better in a classic server/client setup.

If you could explain your idea more clearly, members can help you with your idea.

First, how will the platform be built? Will it be hosted on one server or multiple servers?
Second, your idea appears to be based on "building scalable applications on Bitcoin" But what exactly are these applications? Are they large applications such as layer-two solutions, smart contract applications, decentralized finance applications(DeFi), or just small applications?

Please provide more details, if possible.

So how do you plan to verify activity outside blockchain in decentralized way? Other project i've seen usually use one or more oracle that introduce centralization.

I checked it out and there are some proposal to it on Dfinity with the strongest challenge to be compliance - how would you convince people to forfeit fiver and Upwork for their freelance job search.

This approach will require strong marketing force and aswell a reliable escrow methodoly, the guy suggested smart contract for that which is not bad, but from the traditional way of working with freelancers nobody wants to have any intermediary (decentralized or centralized), once there is trust the both can work p2p on chatting platforms to keep track of the work done. Which builds what's most important, rapport between the client and freelancer.

I do not like the idea of hosting the service on Bitcoin. It is simply not designed for this, and you can see from all the datacarrier packet backlash why that is.

Lightning Network however is a different story. Maybe you can consider that especially if it is a microfreelancing platform.

OP has been offline for months, and his previous two posts are ambiguous imo. Not sure what kind of scalable apps they're talking about if the background is solving a "rigged game" in a job market. Even if we use LN or something else, wouldn't the employer pick the best applicants in the end?

Bitcoin is the future. The project you made to level the playing field is cool, what is the web address for your decentralised solution. If it is used by people it will bring you fame and fortune. Were your interviews published?
