Despite a denial a short while back Crypto.com's debit card has been suspended for Europeans as it got caught up in all the Wirecard problems.

They're talking about finding a replacement but that's probably easier said than done.

Wirecard supplies to others as well but I can't recall who they are.

That didn't last long.

Contis? They can do this for Europe but I wonder how it will work with their other clients.

Anyhow, whenever shit hits the fan and they come right away with the "your funds are SAFU" even before knowing completely what the situation is, it's time to get your funds out of there till you still can. Wirecard is missing money and it ain't just their money, telling right away that all the money is safe even though they weren't able to see the next obvious move by the FCA makes me wonder how much they know in reality.

Tenx? But I don't know if there are still in business

I presume you need a long flirtation before a card provider takes you on. They have a lot to lose making by the wrong choice. Crypto.com may well be a decent operation but Contis may not know a single thing about them.

Crypto.com took a good couple of years to deliver these cards to Europe.

TenX has been using wirecard for their crypto debit cards.

Wirecard has filed for insolvency due to losing over $2 billion in customers funds.

source: bitcoin.com

Crypto.com plans on refunding all their customers due to the bankruptcy.
https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/crypto.com-to-refund-clients-as-wirecards-card-issuer-told-to-cease-operations-2020-06-26

From what I have been following of this they plan to move to another card provider.
This news just broke today so things are moving fast due to their syndicate promotion starting in 4 days from now for btc. Undecided

Hey, thanks for sharing this table. Why do you have Revolut on it however? Is it considered to be a crypto-friendly debit card?

Revolut is not the same, you're not dealing with coins you're dealing with CFD there, you can't deposit or withdraw cryptocurrencies.
Second, cryptopay.me is not an alternative:

Quote
In the EU, Your C.Pay Visa prepaid card is issued by Wirecard Card Solutions Ltd (WDCS) pursuant to license by Visa. WDCS is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to conduct electronic money service activities under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 (Ref: 900051). CPS Transfers Ltd is the Card Program Manager. Cryptopay Ltd, trading as C.Pay, is the Card Co-Brand.

Cryptopay were with wavecrest back then but suddenly didnt allow US residents to use their cards. Havent kept up to the news with them since then because I was one of their customers.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/visa-suspends-wavecrest-status-stopping-some-crypto-credit-cards

So if they are/were with wirecard, so yes, they wouldnt be an alternative any longer to consider.
Plutus from what I can recall is something hashflare the cloudmining service was starting up before they shutdown all contracts.

@AlexPcs: Revolt as far as I know were promoting cryptocurrency use involving their cards so they are in with the rest of those listed.

Try using Revolut to buy or sell real crypto and see what happens. You stand a good chance of getting shut down.

All they offer to their customers is a number on a screen with 'Bitcoin' written next to it.

https://www.fca.org.uk/news/news-stories/requirements-imposed-wirecard-authorisation

Hey, the party's back on.

"We continue to monitor Wirecard’s activities closely and certain requirements continue to remain in force."

I got emails from other long forgotten card accounts like FairFX who turned out to use Wirecard too which was a surprise to me. That's a loadable foreign currency card and the type of thing you put your entire holiday budget on so this situation would've been an utter pain.

Good that it's been brought back from the dead but I'd be going back to cards issued by real banks rather than flaky fintechs if the smooth operation of my life depended on it.

Yeah, FCA lifted its ban, and now cards are online and fully functional. Good news not only for MCO holders but the whole cryptos itself as the uncertainty that existed recently with respect to this issue hampered its further development.

only people from Europe and maybe from the USA (I don't know if people from the USA also receive these cards) should be happy, because for people like me who live in Africa the hope of someday seeing these cards being sent is very small.

I think you used the correct word "back from the dead" because this FairFX site was trying for 10 minutes and the "activate" and "sign in" links were not working, but now they work
