KeepKey Chrome extension - no support as of June

As of this coming June the KeepKey Chrome app will no longer be supported.  I knew this day would come once I saw that KeepKey LLC, the company that makes the hardware wallet had been purchased by (or merged with) ShapeShift.  The KeepKey was the first hardware wallet I ever bought, and it was just months before this merger, so I've been keeping an eye on development of the wallet and the ShapeShift service.

The loss of the Chrome app isn't such a big deal, it is very limited in functionality and can only access legacy addresses.  It does offer access to ETH and ERC20 coins, if you're into that kind of stuff.  I almost exclusively used my KeepKey wallet with Electrum, anyway.  But it does limit the options that available, and that's a drag.  Here's the official email I recieved:

What This Update Means For You

Beginning in June, Google will be ending support for the Chrome Apps. We recommend all KeepKey Chrome App Client users move to the the ShapeShift Platform. The platform allows you to send, receive, trade, and securely hold your KeepKey assets.

The following assets will not be supported on the ShapeShift Platform when Google ends Chrome App support - BTG and the following ERC20s: AELF, CyberMiles, Kucoin Shares, QTUM, ODEM

We recommend using the KeepKey integration with MyEtherWallet for ERC-20 support.
For BTG support we suggest moving your assets to a different wallet, though they will remain safe on KeepKey after support ends.

Apparently it's not just KeepKey, Google is ending support for all Chrome apps:

It is a KeepKey Chrome app, not an extension.
Also, the problem is related to the hosting of Chrome browser for such applications and not in the wallet itself, so I do not think we can blame them.
In short, this interface helps you to manage your cryptos.
But the main reliance on the ShapeShift Platform.
Generally, I do not like using that platform so I hope you are careful with them.

Note that the support will disappear from BTG, so if you are a beginner, you must hurry to transfer your coin from this wallet before you are surprised by the disappearance of your balance "even though your currencies are safe."
