Preev.com down?

Preev.com has become the unofficial standard "Bitcoin to Fiat" converter out there for many people, but I noticed today that it is not working. ( Creation Date: 2011-06-12 )

Does anyone know who the developer are and if we could get more information on the reason why it is down? (Says "No such App") when you navigate to the site.

The domain hosting has not expired, because a quick WHOIS says that it expires on the 2022-01-01 ... So what's up? Looks like it is hosted on Heroku (Cloud Application platform)

Thank you #TryNinja... I did not notice the other threads on this topic. I just think this section is a better fit for such a question.. because Preev.com is almost part of Bitcoin now and a lot of the early developers might know the developer behind this application and they might not frequent the other threads on this forum. 

Looking at the other responses it might be that the traffic limit restriction for the hosting of this site has been reached, so it will be interesting to see how this would be resolved.

They should have a donation link on the site to cover the hosting costs for a package with a higher limit to prevent this in future?

If the memory serves me well, something similar has happened in the past, so we can hope that the page will come back again. I’m not sure if there’s any alternative that is familiar to the wider community, but one member of our forum recently unveiled his conversion-offering service that has some other useful additions as well.

Coinmarketcap has its own cryptocurrency conversion tool here > https://coinmarketcap.com/converter/.
I have used this one in the past as well > https://currencio.co/btc/usd/.

There is probably a buttload of similar sites around, but those will be good alternatives until Preev is back up and running.

Looks like it's back online now, but in case it happens again it's pretty easy to build a clone that updates in real-time with websocket.
