I restarted my rig and PhoenixMiner will not run anymore. This is the same .bat file I have been using for a long time. It calls the PhoenixMiner.exe command and then says No Cuda Drivers detected which is pretty normal since I don't use the -AMD flag and then instead of proceeding it just stops and says pause, press any key to continue and the command line closes. My guess is that Windows has added something in their latest update that is preventing PhoenixMiner.exe from running. I can't be the only person with this issue, hoping someone else has restarted their Windows miner within the past 30 days and has the same problem. Here is a post on Reddit with the exact same issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/EtherMining/comments/joq272/phoenixminer_51c_exits_immediately_with_no_message/

Does this have anything to do with ETH2.0 and the end of Eth mining? My gut is telling me something changed with the latest Windows updates (which installed due to an accidental restart) that is causing the miner not to run. I can confirm this .bat file has worked for over a year now and just randomly stopped.

Nope has to do with your rig and setup only.
Get newest versions and understand windows systems are struggling with 4gb cards.

I appreciate you letting me know that the issue must be on my end. The rig setup is fine and worked perfectly using PhoenixMiner 5.1 the last time I ran my start.bat file a few weeks ago. There was a power outage last night and there were pending windows updates and when turning on today the command doesn't work.

The rig consists of: Eight 8GB 580s.

I updated to the absolute latest PhoenixMiner 5.2 to see if it would fix the issue and still the same problem.

I was reading some older posts and horror stories of things accidental Windows Updates can do like change the registry of windows defender or update the graphics cards to a version that they shouldn't be, etc.. These are the things I am looking into. If you can think of anything else to look into, please let me know. It is very strange the command line opens and does absolutely nothing then just runs the pause command. No useful error logs or anything.

Yeah i only have a single windows rig...it is used to test and at one point was my bios moding station.  Updates from Redmond can do horrible things.  If you can post up the bat file here...maybe its something simple.

Also if you are using the config.txt post that up.

My bat fileis just
cd /mine/phoenix/
start_miner.bat

i have the setx lines only in the start_miner batch file...and then in config.txt have the -pool / -wal / -proto 3 (cuase nvidia is in it right now) but will run without a -proto arguments

But it is running phoenix 5.2 no issue win 10.

You can try to disable Windows Update in "Search->Edit Group Policy"
Under 'Computer Configuration', expand "Administrative Templates->Windows Components->Windows Update".
On the right pane, set 'Configure Automatic Updates' from 'Not configured' to "Disabled".

Using that setting, my Windows10 Rig has been at version 1709 for 5months and never updated.
I don't know if will actually work since I've deferred windows updates in the settings for 365days.
But this is what the description says:

Some features are still being automatically updated though.

And to disable automatic drivers update, enable the policy: "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates", as written in its description.
You might want to check the other policies in there too.
