As for me I love to download files with crack license, sometimes I also think of the risk that my laptop might be compromise but when I tried one time and nothing happens to my files, I then continue to download more files/programs from different forums, what's important here is to always read the review and download only those files with good reviews.
Please do not read the reviews on websites, almost all reviews are fake and auto-generated by the website. In fact there is no central website that lists cracks, if a site claims they have cracks for all files, then take it with a grain of salt.
Fake cracks malware is usually distributed as a single executable file, in particular with a small size.
The general rule experienced crack getters follow is that if the RAR'ed file (and cracks are almost exclusively distributed in RARs because that's how it has always been, not for compression but to split large files into several parts) has some sort of NFO file, which is an ASCII-like file format that has information about the cracking team that made the crack, usually with a bunch of ASCII art, then it is legit. Warez groups even write detailed standards on how to name and package cracks[1] which is mandatory for all cracks to follow, otherwise they get "nuked", labeled as bad, similar to how flags at bitcointalk work.
(I do not condone cracking, I'm just explaining how the process works. If you like the software that you cracked then buy a license to support the author.)
