Did your altcoin walked with bitcoin this week?

Hey folks. Am sure we all are witnessing what bitcoin price has been doing since this very week, breaking the previous ATH of $109k to $111k after a dip to $77k ....

So I want to ask. Did your altcoin you're hodling made some significant highs this week or I should mind my business.

Well, am asking this because I recall in one of my comments in this board where I talked (warned) about how people should be very mindful of the altcoins they choose to invest in. Because a whole lot of them won't be rising when bitcoin starts soaring to the moon this time. And right now I can see a lot of them sitting dormant even as bitcoin hits a new ATH

Not entirely. I'm not really in altcoins since I got wiped out in that dip but the ones I held—HYPE and small amount of ETH.

HYPE has done over 300% from that low and even down-ONLY ETH is up over 100% in the last 1 month. There are other strong alts like SUI, Fartcoin, etc.  I don't hold any alts right now. I just want to point out that while most aren't doing well, there are a select few benefiting from the cascading effect of the new BTC all time high.

Btc dominance are moving slowly meaning only very few specific altcoins are going up and guess what it's always the top 10.

Apparently some of my altcoin aren't even moving at all so I'm rethinking my decision to reallocate it to ethereum. But I bet i'm already too late since bitcoin dominance gonna touch support very soon and bounce back.

Some of my altcoins didn't fare well when Bitcoin reached another all-time high, but I still believe in their potential; some altcoins have their own time to pump as long as the volume and the development are still there.

People should indeed pay attention to their portfolio, but never expect to pump all of them when Bitcoin pumps, but always be open to changing direction and redirect some of your coins to other coins if, based on your study, you find something lacking in those coins to perform well in the market.

After a long time, also previously the price of Bitcoin had decreased to touch approximately $74k, now the price is recovering and even managed to print a new high price, the sideaways that lasted for the last few weeks can finally be broken out.

Besides, the increase in Bitcoin did not have much impact on most altcoins, many are still stuck at the current price, however, on the contrary, when the price of Bitcoin dumps almost all altcoins have decreased.

Weird how a lot of these altcoins wouldn't move up along with bitcoin rise but would typically get affected by a downward movement.  If you may use my advice, I would say you rather move those to bitcoin rather the Eth cause it seems you intend on holding for long for which bitcoin is just the right coin for that which am sure you know.

Sounds like you still have faith in some potential altcoins season resurfacing. Well, it's not about if there would be such pump for altcoins generally but it's about when if not now that bitcoin is making such ATH waves after another.

Due to the fall in the price of Bitcoin, many thought that Bitcoin was probably going to take a big hit and along with it, Altcoins also fell a lot. I don't hold Altcoins though because there is high risk involved. When the price of Bitcoin started falling, I decided to sell my Bitcoin holdings thinking that the price of Bitcoin would fall further. However, the price of Bitcoin has come back again and hit a price higher than the previous ATH. So I am now praising my own patience because I kept my Bitcoins. Altcoins have also pumped a lot more than before so I think both investors are now in a standard profit

Not that much for the altcoins that I hold and this is to be expected while the Bitcoin dominance is still up high.

You're right, that's what actually is happening right now. It's hard to keep on with that if Bitcoin keeps on mooning and then most alts aren't even following. But I think once the skyrocketing of Bitcoin is done, that's when most of the alts will follow. Otherwise, altcoin season has already ended early last year.

Lots of my Altcoins went up this week but not quite enough yet to justify selling any. I still believe that Altcoins really start to rip when Bitcoin starts to pump really hard. It is doing well but I don’t feel Bitcoin is coming close to its cycle top so I am waiting for more violent Altcoin moves, now is not the time.

It is always very risky to invest in altcoins that are not that popular. Even when people say that altcoin season is happening, a lot of the times you would not see significant growth with less known altcoins. It will take a lot of push for them to really rise and for you to make some huge profit.

Some have, some haven't. This is why it is better to have a diversified portfolio in this cycle, as it is quite different from the previous ones. A lot of the major altcoins are severely under performing when compared to BTC.

I still believe that Altcoins really start to rip when Bitcoin starts to pump really hard. It is doing well but I don’t feel Bitcoin is coming close to its cycle top so I am waiting for more violent Altcoin moves, now is not the time.

You know that the majority of shitcoins never recover their ATHs and keep printing bagholders instead of profits? You may face a depressive surprise one day.

Not exactly. But from my experience, those alts usually take a hit when btc moons, or at least they go down in btc pairs. Because people are moving their alt positions understandably to it. And it takes time for people to build trust towards them again.

Funny enough, it doesn't work other way around... When btc dips, alts will dip fast as hell.
