It's a double whammy Indeed when people get scammed twice, the former prolly cause of inadequate knowledge, greed, etc, and then the latter as a result of trying to correct the former (through recovery services), this issue has been brought up here for example:
don't be a victim of second scam, and the case is somewhat a recurrent one, especially for newcomers who don't understand the irreversibility of TX on the network once sent out and confirmed by miners.
Having said that, that's the more reason users are required to garner as much knowledge as they can about the Bitcoin network before joining, cause if they do, they'll prolly not fall victim to scammers, and if they do, they'll know the funds are as good as gone, move on and only work on the loopholes the scammers penetrated through.
