Was cleaning up a drive from 2013 / 2014 and looking at all the old crap coins that came and went thought the years.
HotdogCoin, BurgerCoin, DVDCoin, etc.

Just think about all the oddball exchanges that had them that have come and gone over the years too.

Just wondering if anyone has a list? Has to be in the 10s of thousands if not more.

Would be interesting to see.

Ahh I remember those years when there is no such thing as token only coins and coins are competing on who is the better proof of work coins, I have a lot of wallert.dat files in one of my folders and I counted it all I am over 60 of these POW useless coins, I only retain the wallet.dat of those coins because my hard drive cannot keep up the wallet's databases, makes me wonder if Ethereum did not come, we will need a big hard drive to accommodate these POS and POW coins now.

It is possible to reach a complete list;
Deadcoins.com is a website that tracks virtually all the failed crypto projects, whether its demise came about from being identified as a scam or simply because it perished.
even so, I believe the list is incomplete.

Deadcoins is missing a lot. I have a few wallet.dat files sitting here that I know the coin is long since gone, but I don't see it on their list.
I was scrolling though the alt-coin announcement board by last post date the other day and every once in a while I saw some from 2014 / 15 and went yeah, that one I remember.
Too many coins on too many pages to really go though more then a few here and there. But it was an interesting trip a few years back in time.

we better focus on getting some altcoins that are currently priced in the market than we are just wasting time making a list of altcoins / tokens that are dead and of no benefit to us at all, but if you are really interested in listing dead coins Of course, you can look for some references on blogs or websites that really cover a lot of trash projects or tokens, but in my opinion, it's a futile job for us to do.

Nowadays I no longer have this list but I confess that I already had several wallet.dat and that just remembering it creates a bit of sadness to look at the market and not find these projects on the list among the big ones. In relation to the topic, what really destroyed these projects was the possibility of creating a token or system immediacy and withdrawing from the mining process. Many people don't even know what it means to mine and get a feel for the process of minting a coin.

Note* I write about projects that can do something for society. Now whether this will happen depends not on me, but on the project team. I'm just a writer... DYOR

Is it a coincidence? I was going through my derive as I had to clear up photos because of upcoming Google's 15GB space threshold. Once I was done with it, I found a similar list of mine but it was very small like 200 coins. But I thought that it is useless and I deleted. Anyway, those were quite days!  Grin
