Why hasn't anyone thought of this for Nose Mask?

I have been wondering why no one is making nose mask rather than the typical face mask. Why not develop a nose covering that is as small as a human nose and transparent as well. The covering won't be that noticeable especially if it's transparent.   The nose covering could be made to fit or cling to the nose and have filter underneath to aid proper breathing and filtering of the air.  I think the current face mask are too large & obvious, and could be the part of the reasons why people don't want to put them on.

Mouth covering could also be constructed in this manner — small and transparent.

I think the problem is having something on your face everywhere you go. Simply making it smaller is not going to change that problem.

I can't imagine that type of face/nose mask. Do you have a sample illustration of how it looks like? the face masks that we are using for the protection of covid transmission are covering half of our face.

Transmission can be done through droplets which can pass through our nose and mouth. It is easier to reiterate the type of mask that you have in your thought if we can see it through an image.

I think the problem is having something on your face everywhere you go. Simply making it smaller is not going to change that problem.

The important thing is to make the nose covering less obvious by making it transparent (probably as transparent as glass) and small.

Actually not for everyone. Everyone has different choices. If you prefer the full covering then go for it, I believe there are people who don't want their faces covered that way because of how obvious and big the masks are. They avoid face mask altogether and endanger their lives and the lives of other people. You could provide them this alternative and have them wear them than wearing nothing.

Nose mask can be made where it is more created in a cover type which gets fits on your nose without using any thread to tie towards your ear. But mother mask cannot be done as you just cannot have anything to cover your lips part and should have it in such a way that they are even able to speak without removing them.

I am no expert of Masks but I think the issue is here that with smaller mask the air can still go straight around the mask, you need atleast some sort of surface to block the air, otherwise it will just ge around it and not get filterted. And also precision masks might be more expensive to make than the generic ones that can easily be mass produced. Most people probably prefer a cheap mask than just be thrown away and replaced, rather an an expensive one that needs to be washed or cleaned.

I also think it's all about the price. Whatever the super mask, it still needs to be changed sooner or later. Then the price question arises: Do I need an expensive mask if I throw it away after a while. As for me, it is better to buy many disposable masks than one reusable one.

surgical masks do not offer protection at the entrance but only at the exit and it is difficult to breathe with them so in my opinion they are only useful in the medical field, covering only the nose makes no sense, at ces some cute masks were presented that however need batteries https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-55642398

Both mouth and nose can do one thing, both can be used to breath that is why they are designing facemask to cover both mouth and nose.

Its important to cover mouth because if you speak to someone within a meter, you can potentially drop a saliva unintentionally whcih could help spread diseases like covid.

Economies of scale.  Much cheaper to make a billion generic masks then a hundred million of ten sizes.  Less logistic and supply problems too.

Probably it's going to be more uncomfortable than the face mask if you have 2pc one for the nose and one for the mouth.
I'm using a little transparent shield who covers only the mouth and the nose. It's comfortable and it's doing the work.

Wearing 2pc mask would be cumbersome. Basically twice as much items to forget or lose. If you however make something small and unobtrusive while also protecting well and cheap - that would make it really awesome. People would def be interested in such creation. And if on top of that it looks great too - you'll might become next billionaire

I think it's because the masks are disposable and need to be changed often. And the masks you're talking about will probably be more expensive to produce and therefore the retail price
