Next button grayed out when pasting public master key for watch electrum wallet

Hi, I want to make a cold storage wallet paired to a watch only wallet with electrum, I have follow all in this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPzbUIZrPn0&t=906s but I can't create the watch only one because when I paste my public mastester key in the online pc, the "next" button remains greyed out it seems that ellectrum isn't recognizing the key as.. a key, I have tried so much... I can't understand does anyone has an idea of that could be happening?

What bit are you stuck at? Do you have your xpub/ypub/zpub and it's not recognising that?

Did you get the latest version of electrum from electrum.org on both machines?

Thanks for the reply! I just created the cold storage wallet in a offline mx linux distro partitions in my main drive (with dual boot), my idea is to store in linux the cold storage, while the watch only remains in a online windows partitions. I have intall the latest version of electrum from the main site and verified the packages in both windows and linux. After that, I created a standard wallet in linux and copied the master public key (it starts with zpub) from "information" button in the "wallet" upper menu, then I made a text file with the key. Finally, in windows I tryed to make a new standard wallet, checked "use a master key" and opened the text file with the key, it appears in the electrum box correctly but the "next" button remains disabled and greyed out (I would like to post an image but as a new user I can't). I think it is something very stupid that I'm doing wrong, but i can't si what could be, I'm really new with bitcoin and definitely not an expert at all with technology, just an enthusiat making things throughout tutorials.

Without it the only thing I can think of if the tutorial is quite old is that adding addresses and adding master keys were split into two functions (I think) a while back...

There is an extra line which is messing up things (notice how your text cursor is below the text).

Press backspace to delete it and the button should light up.

Remember this only works in the second page you tried (Standard Wallet -> Use a master key -> Paste it there -> Next).

wow! I knew it! it had to be something very stupid! I can't believe it, thank you very much!!! you don't know how much time I spent in this, I had already gived up!

PD: the program should be able to copy and paste the key without that.... line... hahaha (I used the copy and paste buttons from the cold and hot electrum respectively)

Fwiw, I expected it to be a space... You're keeping things interesting here .

And yeah but if they do that and a new key becomes dependent on whitespace then they'll waste time trying to work out why the code returns an error (or where that piece of code was). So they're probably just better off leaving it.
