African football is also exciting trust me it is, so big stars in the world of football that are making waves in europe has their root in the mother land africa, players like , Mane, sallah, oshimen, pepe, mahrez, aubameyang and more in many leagues this thread would be an updated thread to meet up with the ever changing african football, right now let's start from the african cup of nation qualifier

That's a good one @BitBender. Having a special thread to discuss African football tournaments and competitions has been long overdue. Most people want to talk about African football but haven't been able to do so. So the creation of this thread is a good step. One taken in the right direction.

Btw, I woke up earlier on to see Nigeria lost a 4-0 lead in a game against Sierra Leone. I don't know if it was due to poor defending but allowing them level up doesn't make much sense to me. Maybe if the game had continued for more minutes, Sierra Leone would've probably scored more. Funny enough, most Bookies had Sierra Leone to win at 19 odds.

Africa in itself has quite good players. They all come from different countries. If you made a team out of that, you would have the best team in the world. like Mane of Angola, for example, many top teams have African players. over the years they haven't really played a significant role at a World Cup. last thing I could remember was Cameroon in 1990, semifinal.

It's nice of you to have started this thread. I was looking for a thread as this to lament ovee the Nigeria vs Sierra Leone match and ended up commenting on the UEFA nations league thread. I'm so pissed about that game and is still wondering how Nigeria got it all wrong and allowed such a come back from a 4 goals margin to ending the game in a 4-4 draw. That's so much inconsistency right there.
Haven't scored 4 goals just made them relax as if, they had won the day and ended up messing up the whole game and Sierra Leone surely made good use of every opportunity at their disposal and I commend them for that.

When I read this story from that 4-0 to 4-4, it reminded me of a game long ago. Perhaps something from 10 years ago in the Africa cup I saw a match in which a team was also 4-0 ahead and still 4-4.
Coincidental, but not impossible. Here it turned out that a student had bet on a capital when they were leading 4-0, with a odds of 1.01. I'm not sure that has ever been proven, but I thought it was like £ 50,000.

It was so disheartening to see Nigeria -super eagles- not so super any more, drawing to sierra lone after going four goals up, well thats the excitements of african football many years back african football will struggle to give you a two goals in the game but we saw eight goals triller and not only in nigeria but the other matches had goals in it.

As for the 4 x 4, it was certainly a very exciting game.
I didn't follow the game but I saw the result of the first half on a betting sports site and then the draw... I imagine the joy of those who eventually posted against Nigeria's victory and saw the surprise of a draw at the end of the game.
