Yesterday someone claimed to me he scammed by an impersonator. Scammer using my similar username and scamming peoples. But when you will read my profile then you will see a few notes. There I have mentioned this impersonator and have added my BTC address for escrow funds. So, if the victim noticed the note then he could simply skip that scam attempt.

Hope you realize why should you read the profile before making any kind of deal with any other users. We have been writing in our profile means there is some reason to write it. If we do not bother to read it and get scam then we are responsible for that. We can't blame the account owners if scammed by impersonators or by scammers.

That is very bad of the scammer and I am so sorry for the victim. But, is there nothing you can do like reporting the bad guy to telegram? That name is so similar to yours and everyone are not that smart to determine earlier until they are scammed. I will advice you to look into it to know anything you can do to curtail this from being repeatedly happening. Because, if nothing done now, very possible many other people will still be victims, probably.

It is a very old scam methodology (impersonator) but I am thankful to your thread that can help newbies to prevent themselves from impersonators and scammers. Obviously, most of newbies will never read such warning threads but there are very few newbies will read and you help them indeed.

Scammers can try to impersonate trusted members by a few methods.

Quote
Executive Impersonation: In this variation, a hacker takes control of the CEO’s or CFO’s email account, or spoofs it. Spoofing involves creating a fictitious email domain that closely resembles the actual one. For example, where a valid email address could be JDOE@COMPANY.COM, spoofed variations could use a “0” (zero) rather than a capital “O” (the letter) in COMPANY, or JDOE@C0MPANY. COM, simple misspellings such as JDOE@COMPNAY.COM, or other substitutions, such as using a lower case “r” and “n” (rn) in place of the letter “m,” which can be easily overlooked.

Carefully check the email domain portion of an email sender’s address - the portion between @ and .com (or .net, etc.) - for any replacement characters, such as “0” or zero instead of the letter “O” or “l” (lowercase “L”) in place of “I” (uppercase “I”). Keep in mind, there are many other character replacement variations that are commonly used.

I always put higher rank members with higher trust tag ahead of anyone even if I tried doing business in this forum. I have never been scam doing, however, this not advisable every time. No member of the forum has the same name here, he might not be as careful and thorough before doing such business, I may not understand how he mistook the person behind the scam

I think the notes on your profile are complete so that you can see your real data since many scammers continue to use it on your behalf so that maybe ordinary people who are transacting see this in more detail so as not to be fooled by the scamer who continues to harass you.

I know you are the most important person in this forum and some of the campaigns that have been running may have been the scamer acting and this is probably the second time I have seen a problem involving you.
I hope this will not happen again so that those who want to do anything in the transaction must be observant and ask first.

I still remember this thread of yours as well: This Fake account., as someone impersonates your bitcointalk account with Coolcryptovator999.

And I think this is the first hint that scammers are already at you and they have been looking for this perfect opportunity to scam unsuspecting victims thru your username. It's too bad that someone can fallen for the trick, but let this be a lesson for everyone you be very careful and check everything first.
